Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger vs. Donbrothers/Kyoryuger MOVIE SPOILER
Somehow I feel like I went a little all out
Basically both story wasn’t that slow pace it was like totally immediate let get to the story if need recap it very simple and short. Both have a lot of references to main story. If I have to say Donbrothers was ridiculous but it fit them and Kyoryuger was a little more serious.
(If anything is wrong I apologize, also I tend to jusr comment at certain part as I am typing this so…yeah you can ignore them. If there is mistake in name sorry I wrote it after the show which was late.)
Kingohger Vs Donbrothers
It started with Jeramie narrating then it show the scene at Hakabaka where both team are facing off of course he mention they all dead.
Then it was Haruka turn to narrate and she mention they found themselves in this strange land and yes they are all dead.
Both of them narrate about wondering how it like it came to be like this…where it brings to Shungoddam.
Apparently Gira with the rest of his soldiers plus two Kuroko doing Mochi! Douga was like please try the mochi in which Gira ate it.
It just then Tarou appears saying he got a delivery for Gira who suddenly started choking on the mochi.
Douga was alarmed then Tarou tried help out as he put his hand into his mouth but say the mochi is like really stuck far inside of him. Douga push him away thinking he wasn’t helping. Then well Gira die…
So Tarou leave only to see Shugods (THEY WERE ALL THERE STACK ONTO ONE OF ANOTHER I DONT KNOW WHY BUT IT WAS SO CUTE) especially Kuwagon then he remembered Gii-Chan! (Haruka reminded people who Gii-Chan was that was Kabuto beetle who was his only friend)
Apparently he thought Gii-Chan could be here so he ask Bun if he know where he could find him. Bun say he could be in Hakabaka.
So Tarou lie that he hate Gii-Chan, (Haruka then explains that he cannot lie if not he die) so Tarou die.
Afterward it went back to Donbrothers world where Haruka and Sononi were trying to find inspiration for a manga. (If i remember correctly) they saw Tsubasa & Sonoza being chase by your truly (Takada Masashi!)
Only for accident to have happens where a lorry had hit into Minoru Ono (the guy who turn to Hitotsuki a lot)
Jiro, Saruhara & Kijino appears at the scene follow by the other four. (Takada) ask them to call ambulance apparently nobody had their phone. Suddenly Haruka got inspirational about Isekai that Minoru Ono suddenly got up & change into Ohsamaki then a door open sucking them all into it.
Tsubasa & Sonoza fell into Shugoddam then somehow Sonoza suggested they should start a new where nobody know them. Just when Tsubasa was about to agree, a Shugoddam solider appeared (Takada again 😂) then say they are criminal. Apparently they are wanted in Shugoddam (apparently someone look like them?) so they ran.
Scene change to where Yanma & Jeramie were at N’Kosopa. Yanma had ask Jeramie to read a book only to get prank as he open it only to be punch. (Like jack in a box) Jeramie swear he get his revenge only for Saruhara to appears out of nowhere.
He ask them where he is, Yanma answer him but he conclude he shouldn’t think so much about it. He did a Haiku only for Jeramie to be impressed.
Both of them were like getting all buddy up leaving Yanma to be clueless what going on.
Move on to the next scene whereat Ishabana it reveal Himeno & Rita are watching a new Moffun episode? Movie? Rita was too moved by it and Himeno was concern. Funny thing both Haruka & Sononi were observing them and they intro themselves.
Then somehow Haruka & Rita got into fight about Moffun & Sononi was on Rita’s side but Himeno was on Haruka’s side.
Ohsamaki appears in between the arguments but no one pay attention to him.
Cut to where Jiro had somehow force his way to see Kaguragi to ask where is he. Only for them to be taken back on each other appearance (Mostly their muscles 😂) they were impress with each other body.
Then next was were it show Kijino with Racles & Suzume. Apparently I think Racles was telling Kijino he probably from another world? Only for Kijino to freak out not being able to go back to his Miho.
Suzume was affected by it (like she can’t imagine being away from her love one) that she got too lovely with Racles who was like embarrassed trying to get her stop because they had a guest.
Kijino got overwhelmed despite saying he ok with it end up wanting to go back. Then Rackes suggested he find Kingohger. Also mention how it could help him then he show him on the little tv he had on the Kingohger mecha. It trigger poor Kijino’s memories (Episode 45 of Donbrother) about being defeat by it (he found it super scary) he practically broke out of the cell and run out.
Go back to Yanma Saruhara and Jeramie. Apparently the two were too preoccupied to realize Yanma put the lie detector on them. Then apparently they were commenting how they understood and appreciate their arts (basically Haiku and read btw the line) only to get electricity shock. Yanma was so proud of himself saying how there is no way they would agree with each other. That he didn’t realize that they had grab hold of him so he also got shock. That how they all die.
(From here I forgot which scene came first but yeah)
Cut back to Kaguragi & Jiro having a sumo match apparently…(They are both half naked 😆) Kuroda started the match then they clashed into each other. Only to knock each other off their feet and somehow…they both die.
Then it was in Ishabana the four of them were already knock out well killed (not sure how 😅) Ohsamaki mentions like he did something but I forgot. (Maybe delete scene would explain this?)
Kijino die due to the cold, Tsubasa & Sonoza die from falling because they were being chased and fell into a hole from the bridge when they weren’t paying attention to where they are running.
Back at Tarou and Gira, Gira blame Tarou for his death but he say it the mochi.
Soon the rest started appearing slowly…
Saruhara didn’t take it nicely that Jeramie actually didn’t like his Haiku? He pull Tarou aside saying they are enemies.
Jeramie was upset he didn’t read in between the line.
Apparently Jiro & Kaguragi pop up out of nowhere all set to redo their fight.
Then slowly the rest all appear where they took their place beside their group.
Then they started the fight.
Saruhara was fighting Jeramie & Yanma at N’Kosopa he commented it wasn’t fair 2 vs 1. Afterward Kijino came to back up & he was talking about how horrible the King-Ohger mecha was 😂 (Poor guy like traumatized)
Then in Ishabana Haruka & Rita were fighting while Himeno & Sononi and they were still fighting about Moffun.
In Tofuu Kaguragi & Jiro resume their sumo fight even while discard their weapon. At one point Jiro switch Torabolt then sort of surprised Kaguragi by jumping onto him.
Meanwhile…apparently Tsubasa & Sonoza were like ehhh what to do? Only for Ohsamaki to appears piss off nobody pay attention to him. He practically just stop all their fight forcing them back to where Tarou & Gira are fighting who then agree to postpone their fight to defeat Ohsamaki.
Just before they can start the fight Zenkaizer Black appears saying he got something nice. Reveal the parcel (that Tarou supposed to deliver?) it was crown that spilt into two. Thus allowing them to power-up. (Kaitou just disappear afterwards 😅)
They both started laughing…and laughing and laughing until Tarou tell him to stop.
Tarou then told his group they are going to do their roll call? It not really roll call more like just stating their group name (which I don’t remember what term it was…since usually they do roll call with it 😅) Apparently they were on their usual Tower while funny the Kings were watching from below.
Then Gira wanted to show off also their group however he got totally ignore…Donbrother went straight to battle and the rest of the King join in that Gira gave up and went with them to fight.
Back in the Donbrother world Minoru woke up before (Takada) gave him mouth to mouth 😂
After the fight was over, they didn’t feel like fighting. Like there was some misunderstanding between them. Then somehow Jeramie was like we should like get along & make up or something like that however nobody was in the mood or wanted too. Much to Gira surprised & it was hilarious they all just disappear back into living world leaving Gira & Tarou by themselves.
Both of them wander a bit longer until they saw Oden stand and when they enter…Sonoi greeted them.
(Yes everyone…IT SONOI HE APPEARED!)
Both of them ask Sonoi what they wanted to do one is find Gii-Chan another is to go back to land of living.
So of course Sonoi questions them he didn’t give them an answers. They found it themselves then Sonoi asked what they wanted from Oden.
Tarou-Shirataki
Gira-Daikon
When they found it delicious they return back to land of living. Then it reveal by Sonoi actually Gii-Chan is really in Hakabaka.
Cut to Shungoddam, apparently all the Kings were around as Himeno was telling Bun he is only one who can take out the Mochi that stuck in Gira.
Once it was remove Gira came back to life then everyone went over to eat some Mochi. (Yanma was about to leave but Kaguragi stop him)
Then Tarou reappeared insisted on the delivery. Douga was like YOU AGAIN?!? (It was hilarious) Gira say it fine then went over to Tarou to accept it. Then I think Tarou said they made a bond? (They never reveal what in the box but I think is still the Crown)
Then credits started and somehow…Donbrothers are like sight seeing the other countries 😂 also there was small part in Donbrother world along with Suzume & Racles! (Don’t remember the order so I am just going to say all scene credit scene)
Credit show that Minoru & (Takada) talking then Murasame just swing by them (If you can watch back in beginning he appears in the crash under one of the tire from the Lorry, the director mentions it)
Suzume & Racles were having lunch? Dinner? Suzume fed Racles then she was like hinting to him to feed her too. Racles tried but couldn’t then admit he can’t yet Suzume kept hinting waiting to be fed. (They are very cute 😆)
N’Kosopa apparently they saw Tsubasa & Sonoza wanted poster being showcase. They were just walking on the bridge.
Ishabana Saruhara was trying write a Haiku under the Sakura only for Haruka & Sonoza to push him away to show off their dresses.
Tofuu they were offer a feast tons of food.
Gokkan…apparently they were playing with the seat like it a swing 😂🤣 Rita scream in frustration. Tarou apologized and apparently Kijino was snowball for some reason…
Then they were back at Shungoddam where they had a lot of like Souvenir before saying they could give it to Kyoryuger (I was like EHHHH they probably same more stuff but I blank out)
End…
Kingohger Vs Kyoryuger
I am going to comment it was confusing 🤣 jump here and there the timeline. However it EXPLAINS a lot of some plot hole in the main series.
It started with where Uchu Gira were about to execute Yanma, Himeno, Rita, Kaguragi and Jeramie. He was like demanding the people who causing trouble for him to appear.
Soon King appeared then transformed and Uchu Gira did the same. Utsusemimaru was watching then knew he needed go back to Plezuon where Yayoi was waiting for him. Then Chikyuu look like it got destroyed?
I think they went back to their world then Utsusemimaru went to investigate because something was wrong.
Soon Utsusemimaru found out they were in future when Ami pull them aside and ask him to take Prince back into past like how King told her Utsusemimaru would appears to do that. (Of course Utsusemimaru was stunned by the news but overjoyed)
Once back at Plezuon, Yayoi was in totally disbelief of Prince being son of King & Ami (or she just don’t want to think it possible).
Then while Yayoi was doing necessary arrangements to go back in time, somehow Utsusemimaru end up interrupting her work. That they went through another time and Utsusemimaru sort of fell out.
It show he was in 100 years later…(Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: 100 YEARS AFTER)
Yayoi drops Prince off first while she go find Utsusemimaru.
Prince went off to find the rest but was clueless how to do so until the enemies attack. He tried to defend the civilians only for Souji to appears helping him out.
Prince was happy to see him then pass him a letter written by King his dad. Souji was definitely speechless but he did help train him.
(I honestly forgot when they reveals this part but I think it here?)
It was reveals that King, Utsusemimaru and Yayoi were fighting Dagudedo then he took interest in King and made him apart of his collection. He captured King into amber stone (one like Shugods soul almost) then send both Utsusemimaru & Yayoi away. Just as Dagudedo decide to go back to Chikyuu (Ohsama’s World)
Apparently went Utsusemimaru finally got back, Ohsama already help Kyoryuger to defeat the enemy.
Utsusemimaru was so happy that when after they had send the Ohsama off. He hug Prince only for Prince to start fading away.
Utsusemimaru bring him back to Plezuon where Yayoi was thinking something happen to timeline or something. As Prince call out for his dad for help.
Utsusemimaru panic because he couldn’t save King that time and was upset at himself that he once again accidentally hit into Yayoi sending them to not sure what time.
It cut to Utsusemimaru in Shungoddam who was trying to find Dagudedo because of Prince. Then he witness Young Gira & Young Racles where Gira was eating Rainbow jururira. When Racles left, Gira was upset he finished it and wanted more Utsusemimaru took pity on him and somehow…found a whole tub of it (Where did he find it?!?) he gave Gira just as Yayoi call him back to tell him they are in the past to get back immediately.
Afterward they went back in time to Chikyuu 17 year later? Then somehow they saw an image where Young Gira lost control and grew up defeating Dagudedo on his own. While they were puzzle wha happens just as they arrive to their destination things aren’t what it seems to be.
Utsusemimaru & Prince were a bit at a lost then suddenly Jeramie suddenly appears asking if they were finding people apparently he was willing help them find them. Also He refer himself as Jera-Chi & apparently use a lot of English words. He told them to Come on like follow him.
First they went to N’Kosopa, the scene show Shiokara apparently piss at Yanma probably he did something wrong. Yanma wore his glasses then got onto his knee and was totally apologetic to him saying he will make up for it.
Jera-Chi explain Yanma wasn’t able to do well with technology then fail so he just scrapping through odd job that sort?
Next was Ishabana where it reveal that Himeno is flower girl. Apparently Himeno’s selfishness wasn’t like ignored so they didn’t let her do whatever she wanted she got thrown off throne thus she became a flower girl.
It shown she tried to sell a flower to Sebastian but he treated her coldly pushing her out of the way then she fell as her stomach growls she desperately decide to eat the flower since she can’t sell it. (Marie-San really ate it…)
In Gokkan, Jera-Chi say they like in for a treat as Rita was performing.
Rita step down of Saiban-Cho due to mental illness and became a top star in singing & dancing. They value their freedom a lot. (They felt super free)
Also yes they were performing Moffun song in different tone & dance. (We are so rob from getting actually Rita’s song 😭) it was like super elegant how they performed it they sang it in their usual character voice?
Morfonia became their biggest fan. Edit: She fainted after their performance 😅
In Tofuu
Kaguragi was hated by other country for his lie and deceiving he got overthrown then now do like rig Sumo match with his sister arranging it. (He can’t seem to escape Sumo 😂 both film has it)
Prince was totally at lost because they are all so strange. Then he mention about wanting to find Uchu which like Jera-Chi bring them (if I remember correctly I forgot this part)
They went back to Shugoddam where Gira appears with the other Uchu Jesters. Jera-Chi bow & refer to Gira as Gira-Sama
If I am not wrong Gira was apparently questioning who were Prince & Utsusemimaru. Then I think he was like curious why they were looking out for the four of them probably he thought they causing trouble somehow he reveal he had capture them. (Honestly this part I was a little blank out what happen 😅)
(Also I want to comment I wish they show their personalities moreeee like how they interact with each other but oh well…)
When thing was going grim King suddenly appear out of Minongan. Then he rescue Utsusemimaru & Prince by calling Yayoi to pick them up.
Once they regroup. Prince was totally fine, then Utsusemimaru & Yayoi was wondering how was King ok.
King reveals he had witness Ohsama defeat Dagudedo then he broke free of his amber when he heard Prince calling out for him.
He went to find Gira and requested for his help to get to Prince so he can help him (basically to find a way to dimension travel or something?) who suggested using Minongan even though there might be chance it won’t work. King just took it so he free Minongan and enter inside of him allowing him to reappear to save them.
Just as they were figuring out what made the Ohsama like this Yayoi reveals it due to Utsusemimaru’s fault for giving Gira too much Rainbow jururira to eat. (So yeah apparently if he ate a lot he definitely would have defeat Dagudedo but cost him his humanity)
King had a plan where he go find a way to help Ohsama get back to themselves, while Utsusemimaru go stop himself and Prince go find Gabutyra who their partner and needed for the battle
(This is where everything connect from the series 🥹 and where I forget which came first…TIME TRAVELING IS CONFUSING)
So yeah exactly what happens in Episode 40, why Prince went to find Gabutyra. Then why he hesitated in answer Gira question & him hugging him along with being the Nice evil King 🥲
Meanwhile it show back to where movie started but a bit different. Apparently Gira was telling them to like call out for the person help them out & they were desperately calling out to be saved (I swear all their acting is so good you can see how pitiful they look THEY LOOK LIKE THEY WERE CRYING 😱)
King reappears but this time prepared. He had the Venomix Shooter in his hand. (I can’t remember what he said but it was Wah before he shoot them)
He shot the Venomix Shooter at them producing like Spider-Web connecting them together. Apparently their memories were being revival from the shooter into them thus they went back to their normal self but Gira didn’t who kept saying he was Uchu.
(I forgot which part where Utsusemimaru did his part. Like was it after Gira say he Uchu then fighting against the Ohsama or after they had their say then back away)
Jeramie got ask King where did he pick it up, he mention that while he was looking for Gira. It was hinted that the moment he took it when in last episode Jeramie left it on his throne.
Soon something hit him in which Utsusemimaru did his part & stop himself. Apparently he had stop himself by scolding and slap himself.
The Kings knew it wasn’t enough they still had to help Gira so they just fight him. They all fought against him before holding him in place they all had something to say to him. (🥹) then Yanma’s line asking him to wake up Skapon Tanuki! They back away before using their Ohger Slash against him.
(Can I be grateful they decide to do this scene without them transform? 🥹)
The Ohger Slash knock some sense into Gira who laugh only to be clueless what happening.
While they are all relief he is alright they were finished. As apparently Uchu transform Gira appeared with the other Uchu Jesters.
If I am not wrong King-Ohger first transform and cool thing is they Ohgai Busou but haven’t transform yet. They fought the enemy while doing their roll call and only complete their transformation after they said their name. (IT WAS SO COOL)
Gabutyra reappear and change into a new weapon just as Jeramie’s Venomix shooter also.
Soon the other Kyoryuger appears they all transform (they definitely did their dance 😆) before FIRE. Then they did their roll call in transform mode.
Kyoryuger went into armour mode just as Jeramie shoot out his transform Venokix Shooter it gave the Ohsama all new weapons.
Then they proceed with the fight.
Hilbil - Rita Yayoi & Ami
Kamejin - Yanma & Nossan
Minongan- Ian & Kaguragi
Goma - Utsusemimaru & Jeramie
(I can’t remember for Minongan & Goma who fought who but i think is correct)
Glodi - Himeno & Soujin
Apparently Goldi came back to life after they defeat him.
Then Torin appears to take over the fight along with Tessai & Ramiresu and they finally defeat him.
When King Prince and Gira defeat Uchu Gira. King & Prince combine their weapon to create a gun while Gira use the Kentrospiker
The battle end with Utsusemimaru apologizing for what he has done while Gira was like no hard feelings that sort. Then Gira was like asking Prince if he was see him again which he would.
King say definitely before pulling them together to look at the camera saying because they are Sentai
Ending credit
They did the waking king dance
King-Ohger had most scene.
Everyone BUT King dance small part (he only did the Brave pose 😔)
(CAN THEY HAVE A FULL DANCE OF ALL OF THEM?!?! IN BLU-RAY?!?!)
Oh then post credit
Prince return to his timeline with Utsusemimaru escorting him. When they arrive Utsusemimaru was dumbfounded who he call Oto-Chan. As his father didn’t like look like King since the face was like King’s Dad(Shinji Yamashita portray himself as older King I guess?) That Utsusemimaru thought he mess up again and when running back to find Yayoi 😂
I probably should try learning how to do summary better? I just end up typing it all out…dunno I probably just so excited of the movie I need write down everything. 😅
Well hope you enjoy the spoiler…now I need to fix my other report…

What makes Futaba Sakura from Persona 5 the autistic girlie ever of all time? Here's what the people have to say:
Tumblr media
Futaba-related asks/reblogs: x This post will be updated after each round!
Image ID in alt text and under the readmore.
[Image ID. White slide with a screenshot of Futaba in the bottom left corner. She is surrounded by text boxes which read,
"She’s a hikkikomori and a hacker genius. She initially has bad social anxiety due to trauma and does not leave her room."
"She's just like me fr fr (im autistic girlie)"
"Generally described as being incredibly introverted and socially anxious, however having no problem opening up if the conversation is about something that interests her. She also has a deep interest in hacking and computers (if the protagonist claims to have built his own PC, she asks for the specific details on it, such as GPU, CPU, RAM, ect.) There are more details I feel are autistic but I'm not sure how to word them !!"
"Talks in Video Game references and wired expressions. At one point she leaves a conversation because an Anime she wanted to watch was on. Helped me come to terms with my own Autism. Covered her face with a weird mask and a towel (separate events) because she didn't want to show her face in Public. Gets pissed off that someone messes with the her Neo Featherman Figure (basically the Persona equivalent of Power Rangers or Super Sentai). Overall just a massive nerd."
"First of all: The way she sits . little gremlin girl. Second of all. Social awkwardness (she has SO MUCH). Third. She's 15 years old and an international hacker, i mean come on, you cant DO THAt unless youre at least a little autistic. 4. Constantly tries to wear things over her head to avoid being looked at. Five. Her room is the dirtiest place on the planet, filled with snacks and figurines etc. Sixth. Look come on please shes autistic"
"She has social anxiety, doesn't really understand social norms and relates a lot of her real life experiences to video games. She also hyperfixates on the things she's working on and says a lot of strange things without thinking about it."
"Futaba is intensely afraid of social interaction (living in her room for years, unable to exit the house without a meltdown), including her almost constantly wearing headphones (which, to be, read as sensory comfort items). She's only really comfortable around her close friends and family, around who she becomes a lot more excitable and energetic. She has deep and passionate interests in the things she loves, and tends to become hyper focused on whatever shes tasked herself with, even neglecting her own health during which. It's very easy to equate her love of video games to a special interest, as it influences the way she sees the world, to the point where she calls the main character her "key item", since he helps her agoraphobia, saying she needs to "level up" to improve her social skills. To top it all off, her voice actress, Erica Lindbeck, has stated that she played Futaba as if she was autistic."
"Girl had so much autism stored in her body."
"It is very obvious in nearly everything she does that they intended for her to be autistic. Literally just watch almost any cutscene with her and you'll see it (well. Ideally after her palace is taken care of since she's going through stuff and the 'tism is less obvious as a result)"
"she is soooo autism girlswag coded. When you first befriend her and hang out, the characters all have trouble sort of connecting with her, but once they realize they are being way too obnoxiously formal/normal they start asking her about stuff she is interested in, which then she talks very excitedly about. Im sort of passively watching someone play persona 5 so i might have gotten something wrong but eee she is so coded to me <3 and not in a bad way imo ik sometimes things can be TOO stereotypical but yknow yknow"
"Struggles with social interactions, special interest in computers and video games, her English voice actor intentionally played her with the idea that she's autistic."
"She's obsessed with and so good with computers she was a world reknowned hacker before the story even began, she struggles with interacting with people and was bullied through out her entire childhood for being "weird" and being able to memorize books and other things. Her outfits almost always include her wearing headphones (which i personally hc to be to reduce sounds) and there are scenes where she experiences sensory overload that turns into panic attacks. A lot of her character arc is about how after a personal tragedy she completely isolated herself from the outside world and now shes trying to ease back into interacting with people with the support of her family and new friends. When trying to connect with her, the quickest way they got her to relax and open up was when one character got her talking about an in universe sentai show she loves. Also her English voice actor said in interviews that she performed Futaba with her being autistic in mind because everything abt her character just reads as autistic and seeing someone struggle w the same issues I did was super important to me when i got into p5."
"Futaba is incredibly autistic-coded. She couldn’t leave her room or speak to strangers due to trauma, but she also was “quirky” before the trauma. She’s a computer genius and can get so obsessed with her work that she doesn’t hear or acknowledge other people. She wears headphones almost all the time and sits with her knees up (odd posture). Lastly, her mother was known to also be “odd” and was also very absorbed in her work. Autism is often inherited, so my personal read is that both of them are autistic. I’m missing lots of things I’m sure but she’s the best."
"All of her interests are special <3, major social anxiety, partially nonverbal (just like me fr), one of the only people she's constantly jokingly mean to is also very autistic coded which idk if that's a me experience but i can only be joke mean to other autistic people. allistics wouldn't understand. She cannot sit properly!!! Very important she has that autistic ball sitting position"
"She’s a genius hacker nerd who up until certain events in the game never left her room or her house due to trauma. She’s gets nervous and overwhelmed very easily once she starts expanding her comfort zone, but she doesn’t let that stop her. At certain points when she has to interact with people she isn’t comfortable with she puts on a disturbing doll head mask. At one point she has a miniature meltdown in the middle of a crowded store, because she tried pushing her boundaries a little too fast and got overwhelmed until the protagonist was able to find her. She loves anime and collects figurines and gets annoyed when her display of them is messed with. Her personality is socially awkward and kind of bratty when she’s comfortable and I don’t mean that in a negative way at all, she’s great!"
"very bad with people, obsessed with programing and Nerd Shit, i love her and she is very cool"
"she has a massive special interest in technology, her entire character arc is helping her learn to socialize, she sits like a GREMLIN"
"she is a epic hacker gamer girl so we are within the margins for trans and autism, she has a hard time with eye contact, she has intense social anxiety and wahooooooo she has the special interests !! on a side note she has chronic fatigue so damn just like me fr!! and shes so fun!! ack!!!" End ID.]

Hi chat, I need to spread my truth. In Lisa the painful, there are two party members out of the 30 party members that can be read as a trans, Fly and Queen
Let’s start with Queen because she has the most. Now the game does not portray her in a good light (trans wise) however, she could be read as a transfem. Look at her character bio, it states “…Queen Roger was outcasted as a child for his feminine behavior. This ultimately is what has given him such a thick skin. Even before the apocalypse, he has been known to kill people.” She was outcasted by people for her femininity, and she grew tough because of it, to defend herself from those who judge or saw less of her simply because she was trans. As well as when others are shown to be mistreated for their femininity (example the intro for when you enter the beehive), she beats them til they're nothing but broken bones and a pulp of flesh. She’s also the leader of a group of people who give women-less(???) world, a place of freedom and self expression, As well as simply a sex house, but that’s besides the point. The point is, this is one of the safest parts of the game, because it clashes with the games theme of toxic masculinity, it opens the main protagonist to an area with freedom to express who you are, whether that be in a quick and short notice. Hell, you can even become a bee! And that’s how you get her as a party member! By doing work in the beehive. Anyway enough about this cool badass transfem.
Fly is described to hate his life before the flash and then adopting a new persona after the flash, thus making him happier than he was before. To quote the character bio, “Frank hated his life, until he became "Fly". He based his new self off of a cool Sentai Anime he would watch.” It was like he molded a self he could finally look at with joy and a little too much pride, so much so that when he is beaten at the thing he brags at he will hate you for the rest of the game, following you around and insulting you until the end where he doesn’t hesitate to kill you. “Now terry why did you bring that up” because it’s truly interesting how much he care about this persona enough that when a single person gets under his skin about it (unintentionally that is) he’s bitter and petty about it. It makes you wonder how much this persona means to him and how he was before the apocalypse. Though, I can only theorize that it was the pent up rage of all the traumas and experiences being in the wrong body their entire life. Also Fly could be read as Transfem, Non-binary, or even transmasc. Go wild my friends.
Now, why pair them together?
Now Fly and Queen have not talked/interacted with each other yet (unless you want to wait til the new update drops) however, I think the idea of the two bug themed characters being paired up, is neat in a way. Like how flies imitate bees in real life. Also pairing the guy with the most hatred in the world with a girl who is kind of like a straight (wo) man is a little funny, but also neat because they can both have thought provoking convos if the main protag isn’t mention (for example, both discussing how they found their true selves or something along those lines)
Anyway, this has been my propaganda ramble. Please vote Honey Cart one million times

Funny how I keep missing a weekly mark with Pretty Cure specifically, huh?
I swear it's not intentional, but perhaps I oughta shift it to be (officially) biweekly. Y'know, get it all in shape for myself. Idk, I'll figure it out.
Anywho, Pretty Cure~! With Sora-chan and Mashiro-chan~! Maybe expand it to Ageha-san and Wing-kun sooner or later~! Who knows~!
Spoilers, I guess...
-Oh shit, brass.
-Man, that reminds me of when I'd watch Batman: Brave and the Bold when I was a kid.
-Made a bestie~!
-Off to school with ye

-"Oh hey, it's you Kabaton."
-Hot damn, Sora's taken that fourth wall very seriously.
-Desoit!
-I'm assuming Bebop-on's Lanborg summoning works solely through calorie burning at this point.
-Certainly makes wanton destruction efficient.
-He's like a big Metall!
-From the Mega Mans!
-Going up~!
-Kabatonight you're gone.
-Theeeeere ya go! That wasn't so hard, was it?
-Bless you, Ageha-san~!
-...on second thought, no, I fucking hate that Hummer you're driving.
-This car kicks ass, and you can watch Madagascar while you're driving~!
-And then Gloria does the Go Animate dance, smth smth Those Animals Are So Fucking Funny Merge Without Looking Kaboom
-Holy shit, you just
-Guessed that off the cuff, huh
-Sora-chan, ordinary middle school student~!
-Ah, speaking of which
-Wow, can't wait for Episode Seven~!
-Episode Seven~!
-Very cute.
-...that ribbon seems very small.
-There he is. The borb.
-"Thank you, Granny Goodness."
-Watch, she's gonna actually gonna be like the real thing and be an agent of the Underg.
-I'm kidding, obviously, but that'd be one hell of a thing to put into your show for young children.
-"Please don't eat Sora-chan alive, she's very sensitive."
-Skyland~! Y'know, it's just a few warps away from Gran Ocean. Just swing a left from Hope Kingdom, then just a slip south of Labyrinth.
-Mashiron~!
-Skalandinavia~!
-"Wow, your denial is so obvious, you must be from Copenhagen!"
-They're bullying this nerd so hard.
-"I'm the shyest bitch in the fuckin' universe, yo!"
-So... Sensei... are you single?
-Cannot tell a lie. Momoi Tarou would be proud.
-Aphorisms~!
-Her base instincts take over~!
-"Damn, this girl's quick!"
-...I have to ask, how does Sora's Skyland body work? Specifically, the bones.
-The people believe~!
-Into fucking ORBIT
-Meteorite Strike!
-Awwwwww
-Everybody loves Sora-chan, the shyest fucking supersonic athlete in town~!
-I'm assuming Mashiro's a second year at this school if she already has a favorite spot on the roof and deep lore on the school's founding.
-Be yourself, sky cadet!
-"I lied! I'm not shy at all! I've been keeping it all a secret! I am a goddamn superhero!"
-Hero Gal~!
-Oh my God
-Kabaton's the boss.
-Melonless bread.
-Like Seedless Melon.
-Fucker took the tree!
-Ready Go!
-Right, what do you do?
-Petal Blizzard!
-Gotta say, I really missed having dynamic battlefields, the Delicious Field got really boring after a while.
-...wonder if this is where all the setting designers went?
-Go big or go home, I guess!
-Timbeeeeer!
-All fixed up~!
-...guess nobody's really too traumatized by what happen. That's a good thing though.
-Hero Garu~!
-Hooray~! Friendship~!
-Good work today, Mashiron!
-She grows up so fast.
-OH THE LAD
-Cure Wing, here he comes~!
-I'm half picturing Murase-san waiting in the corner of the recording studio, just bobbing in place for the chance to say his transformation phrase.
-I don't think I'll miss Saturday this time.

[TL] Amusement Park Show/Chapter 3
Location: Amusement Park
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Cuuuute~. Was that hat hand-made by your mother? Yupyup, it really suits you~♪
You came to the amusement park today to have fun with your parents.
Well, could you tell all the mothers here about the kids’ show that’s starting at midday?
So you see, uh, me, Vampire-oniichan, Wanko-oniichan, and… Adonis-kun are doing it.
Well it’s whatever. Anyway, my friends are participating in a show for kids~
A Sentai show? Ah no, not quite. It’s not a show for those kinds of boys.
It’s the kind where brothers and sister can sing and dance together, so girls can participate without any worries ♪
Hmm. You’ve come with some friends here? Are those friends girls too?
Oh I see~. You’re cute, so your friends must be cute too, right?
Ahaha, is that embarrassing? Now I have an urge to give you a hug…♪
Whaaat, I’m joking. It’ll be OK in 10 years or so, but otherwise it’s a crime~
But, a headpat’s not off the table, right? Pat, pat ♪
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Hm? Ah, looks like your mother’s coming out of the souvenir shop. Hey, we’re over here!
Well then, see you later. I’ll be waiting for you at the show~♪
Phew… Is that, Anzu-chan? Anzu-chan!?
It is Anzu-chan. What are you doing here? Ah, that’s irrelevant?
It’s fate that we met here, so why don’t we go on a date?
When we first met, you were pretty wary of me, so I was planning on trying to bridge that gap between us.
You’ve been less on guard as of late, right? Besides, an amusement park date is a classic~
Is it alright if it’s a cliche?...Huh? Anzu-chan?
You don’t want people to think we’re friends, so please stop looking at me like that~?. That hurts even someone like me, honest to God ♪
Eh? Ohh, you were watching that conversation I was having a bit ago?
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Why did I put a hand on that little girl, that’s… weird? Ah, nono, you’ve got it all wrong!!
The girl has a promising future, but either way, that would be too big of an age gap, right?
If you were wondering, I wanted to know what it would be like to have a younger sister…is that no good?
Right~. Anzu-chan gets straight to the point. But that’s better than someone stringing you along ♪
I have an older sister and brother, but I don’t have a younger sister. I can’t exactly know what it’s like~
Speaking of which, doesn’t Anzu-chan have a younger brother? If I had an older sister like Anzu-chan, I’d welcome it with open arms~♪
Ah, but if you were, we couldn’t go on dates, and I wouldn’t be the younger brother.
Ahaha, we’ve gone on a bit of a tangent.
Well, I guess it’s the result of me thinking and acting by my own accord, but I supposes that’s alright ♪
Let’s get back on topic… Huh? Work?
Mhm. Anzu-chan supports our costumes endeavours, and acts as a middleman on the job.
Whether it's at school or an amusement park…You think I’m doing too much. I see, is that how it is~?
…Say, Anzu-chan. Have you spoken to Koga-kun yet? If you have, could you tell me how he was doing?
You look surprised. Ah, there’s no need to apologise. I was pretty surprised as well.
I’m sure you’ve heard the full story from Sakuma-san, but the truth is that we were meant to perform live here.
We ended up doing a show for kids by mistake.
Koga-kun was feeling pretty down about the whole thing…. But he ending up saying he’d join in.
I wonder if he’s still dragging it out… I’m a little worried.
Honestly, I can barely believe it myself.
Sakuma-san invited me to join UNDEAD, so I didn’t really having any interest in being a member.
I couldn’t even remember Adonis-kun and Koga-kun’s names at the start… But now I think they’re pretty cute juniors.
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Ahaha, you think it’s unusual for me to say things like that with such a serious expression~. What, does Anzu-chan not think that’s something I can do?
When I spoke to Koga-kun and the other’s about today, he checked the temperature and it was low enough to hospitalise someone. I mean, who wants to be that cold, right~?
So, please bear that in mind, Anzu-chan. Yup, promise ♪
Haa~... Talking with Anzu-chan is refreshing. Now we’re feeling better, how about that date?
Ahaha, I’m joking…W-wait. Did you just say that, if I do my best for the show, you’ll go out with me…?
I’m losing my hearing, right? What’s wrong, Anzu-chan? Has the cold gotten to you?
Wait, I’m sorry, please don’t correct me! You were always unwilling to go out with me, but my tenacious persistence has made you say “fine”.
Anzu-chan has finally recognised my charm too~. Funfufu~♪
I’ll do my absolute hardest. So, wait for me, ‘kay? ♪
…Sakuma-san? You didn’t really understand Sakuma-san’s significance earlier?
You said that we could do a live, but we can’t actually because of a mixup, right?...Wait, what do you mean?
You’ll hand out questionnaires at the live so we can see if more than half of the audience enjoyed it.
You managed to sort out an encore performance too.
Thanks, Anzu-chan. Koga-kun and the others’ll be happy to hear that~♪
Koga-kun in particular was really worked up, but he seems pretty hyped about it now.
When I heard about it, I knew I had to put my everything into satisfying the audience.
Anzu-chan’s truly a goddess, come to save us.
But that’s just the job of a producer? It’s alright to have a bit more pride, you know. But, I guess that’s what makes Anzu-chan Anzu-chan~♪
If I happen to see Sakuma-san, I’ll send you a message. Make sure your phone’s not on silent, ‘kay~?

because i was a fool for loving her over you (and if i call i really hope you’ll call me ‘cause i’m not over you)
Fandom: Choujin Sentai Jetman
Characters: Tendou Ryuu, Yuki Gai, Rokumeikan Kaori, Hayasaka Ako
Song: “Empress,” Morningsiders (playlist here)
Note: Alternate title for this story is “The Jetman Trap (1992) starring Hayasaka Ako”
Directly following the defeat of the Vyram there are several days of frantic, exhausted reports and debriefings and meetings, some of which take place in hospital rooms where the various team members are receiving medical care, and then once those are done there is a month total, blissful peace. The Jetmen return to their homes to rest and recuperate. Raita is able to begin the spring planting, Ako to consider and then reject university entrance exams, Ryuu to mourn the second death of his first love, Gai to brush up on his saxophone in preparation for going back to his usual occupation, and Kaori to spend a day with her parents for the first time in ages. Perhaps they’ll be called upon to save the world again, but hopefully not.
At the end of that month, though, comes a strange moment of confluence as in a sumptuous mansion, in a mediocre bar, in a sparsely-decorated military apartment, three people find themselves staring into space and sighing heavily as they murmur, “Well, I screwed that up.”
---
Gai is there when Ryuu finally asks Kaori to dinner, and he’s mature enough by now to admit that it stings somewhat to hear, just as he’s still immature enough to find Ryuu’s gut-punched expression when she turns him down a little bit funny.
“Why?” Ryuu manages to stammer out after a moment, and then he visibly backpedals—“which is to say, of course if you don’t want to I respect that.”
She folds her arms across her chest. “Why now?”
“Well, I, I…I just realized that I’ve wasted so much time on obsessing over the past that I never actually gave…other options…any fair consideration. And because I like you, Kaori, you’re a dear friend, and I’d like to have dinner with you.”
“Well, I’m not interested in being your runner-up.” And that haughty little chin tilt, the one she doesn’t actually pull out too often, and Gai is trying not to eavesdrop, really he is, but she’s just so wonderful to watch when she decides to put the rich blood on. “Ask me again when you want me and aren’t just ‘giving me fair consideration,’” with a hand gesture that manages to indicate quotation marks while concealing how hurt she actually looks.
Then she leaves, and Ryuu stares after her until she’s out of sight before turning to Gai and saying, sounding bewildered, “I did something wrong there, didn’t I. You heard all that, right? Did I do something wrong there?”
Gai takes a sip of his drink—a soda water, he’s trying to drink less alcohol. “I think you might have messed up a little, yeah. Nobody likes to feel like they’re a fallback option.”
---
Ryuu is there when Kaori asks Gai to try meeting her parents again, and it’s a little painful to hear, but not as much as the hissing argument that it devolves into. Nothing that either of them says is untrue, but all of it is put unkindly, two injured people cutting further pieces out of each other in the hopes that it might make everything more even. He’s unexpectedly hurt by the realization that they slept together, probably more than once, even though they’re both mature adults and certainly didn’t need to consult him about it.
Of course, in the end, Gai is the one who stalks off, mouth tight and brow furrowed, and Ryuu almost chases after him—but that would mean leaving Kaori by herself. She stares after Gai for a moment, looking forlorn, and then turns and buries her face in Ryuu’s chest and bursts into tears. “I don’t know what I did wrong,” she sobs, and he pats her shoulder awkwardly and offers reassurances that he’s not sure he means.
“It’s all right,” he says, staring over her head in the direction Gai went and trying not to focus too much on the warmth of her body pressed up against his. “I’m sure you’ll get another chance to talk things out with him.”
---
Things are still very busy on the farm, so Raita’s not with them, but the other four meet up at a park as the weather starts to warm up. Ako and Kaori are sitting together sharing a thermos of tea and a basket of cookies while Ryuu and Gai play catch when Ako says, “So how are things with you guys?”
Kaori blinks down into her cup and says, carefully, “It’s a bit lonely without the team all together, but I’ve been doing well, thank you. How is school? You’re graduating soon, right?”
“I am, but you know that’s not what I was asking. How are things with you three. You and Ryuu and Gai.”
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Oh, don’t give me that, you totally know what I mean.” Ako shoves an entire cookie into her mouth, chews, swallows, and continues with her mouth still partially full. “Honestly if I didn’t already like girls better I think watching you three would have made me prefer them, guys just seem like a hassle.”
Kaori does not choke on her tea, but only through main force. “You like girls?”
“Don’t you? I mean, have you seen girls?”
“I…I suppose I’ve never considered it.”
“Huh. Well, anyway, girls are amazing, not the point, I’m worried about you guys. Which one of them do you actually like?”
Kaori doesn’t answer, she just stares down at her hands.
Ako’s eyes go wide. “Ohhh. It’s like that.”
“What, what do you mean, it’s like what?”
“Have Ryuu and Gai figured out that they’re in love yet or are they still being dumb boys about it?”
“Have—Ryuu and Gai are what?”
“Come on, you have to have noticed.”
Kaori looks over at where Ryuu and Gai have abandoned their game and are sprawled on the ground side by side, catching their breath. Their hands just barely touch, there in the grass, and. She knows. She does know. She’s known for ages now. She’s just been pretending not to, because it hurts to be certain that in the end she won’t ever be the one. But all she says is, “Oh.”
Ako nods, looking unwholesomely knowing for someone who’s not even out of high school, and eats another cookie.
---
“Hey,” Ako says over the phone, “can I introduce you to a friend of mine?”
Kaori thinks about it for a long, long moment, and then says, “Yes, I would like that.”
---
Ryuu says, “I don’t really think I’m ready to try to meet someone new yet, but…sure.”
---
Gai says, “My number isn’t listed, how did you even get it? Don’t answer that, I don’t want to know what you get up to. Yeah, why not.”
---
None of them quite process what she’s done to them until they’re all seated at the restaurant and a waiter is approaching with a telephone to inform them that they’ve received a call. Ryuu is the one who answers, and he doesn’t even start with a greeting, he just says, “Ako, I hope you can understand that I’m a little upset with you right now.”
“You’ll get over it,” she says cheerfully, her voice tinny through the phone receiver. “I hear that restaurant’s really nice, anyway, I hope you three have a good dinner!”
“Don’t hang up, Gai wants to speak to you.”
Gai takes the phone and says, in the most affectionate, big-brotherly voice he can summon, “Ako, you’re a horrible brat and the next time I see you I’m going to spank you because clearly your parents never did it enough.”
“I love you too, and you’ll have to catch me first. Is it Kaori’s turn to be mad at me now?”
Kaori does take the phone, but all does is say, stiffly, “Goodbye, Ako,” and then hang up, turning as she does to smile at the waiter (who is doing his best to not look interested) and say, “If we could have ice water, please, we’ll need a few minutes before we’re ready to order.”
An uncomfortable beat after the waiter leaves, in which they all keep glancing at each other and then looking away, before Ryuu said, “So are we ordering? Or are we all just leaving? Because I want to say we leave, but honestly I’m hungry.”
Gai pinches the bridge of his nose. “Lady’s choice, I guess. I need a drink, but I can get that anywhere.”
They turn to her, and she looks between the two of them, how they incline ever so slightly towards each other even as they’re also inclining towards her, and how could she choose? Even if she did want to separate them when they were clearly so perfect for each other, how could she pick one and leave the other?
Ako’s knowing voice echoes in her head. “Ohhh. It’s like that.”
Oh, says her heart. It’s like that.
She covers her face with her hands, not crying, because everything makes sense in a way that she’s not entirely prepared for and if she starts crying now then she may never stop. “I think,” she says into her palms, breath not hitching, she is speaking so evenly that they certainly won’t be able to tell how overwhelmed she is, “I think, I think we should order dinner, and I think we all need to talk.”
Ryuu and Gai both speak at the same time, and what they both say is, “Whatever you say, Kaori.”
---
“So that sounds like it went well,” Kyoko says, not looking up from where she’s hunting through her box of nail polish. “Which one of them threatened to spank you? Was it the hot one with the motorcycle? He seems like he’d be into that.”
“Kyoko!” Ako throws a pillow at her. “Don’t be gross, he didn’t even mean it like that.”
“What? I’m not saying I want him to spank me, I’m just saying he seems like that kind of guy. There we go.” She lifts a bottle of deep blue polish out of the box. “You want your fingers and toes to match, or do I need to find another color too?”
---
The next morning the phone in Ako’s little apartment rings, and when she picks it up, Gai just starts in with, “Look, threat rescinded, but don’t do that to me ever again.”
She giggles. “So did you have a nice time? I hope you were safe.”
Sputtering on the other end of the line. “You’ve got a dirty mind for a kid. Nothing happened. We talked.”
“All night? I can hear Kaori’s voice. And Ryuu’s. Who was in the middle?”
“Threat unrescinded, you’re going to catch it the next time I see you.” And in the background, Kaori’s joyful laughter, Ryuu asking where the coffee is, something muffled from Gai as he definitely covers the receiver for a moment, and then, “Thank you. Stay out of my love life from now on, you’re a nightmare.”
Ako says, “Love you too, Gai. Tell the other two I say hi,” and then drops the phone back onto its cradle. A moment to just grin smugly at nothing, and then she whirls around to shout, gleefully, “Kyoko! I didn’t screw it up!”

Shades of Love [1]
Fandom: Sk8 the Infinity
Characters: Shindo Ainosuke (Adam), Ainosuke’s aunts
Warnings: Child abuse (emotional, physical)
Word Count: <1k
Summary: In which a young Ainosuke receives a gift from the “wrong” type of friend and his aunts find out. [I wanted to write something happy for his birthday, but my mind decided, "Fuck you, here's some angst." 😭 His aunts' names are my invention because I needed to call them something besides "bitches" (derogatory).] [Adam Appreciation Week 2021 | May 1: gift / party / wrapping paper]
"Ainosuke-sama. Your presence is requested in the drawing room. Immediately."
Confused, Ainosuke looked up at his tutor, who nodded, before getting out of his chair and following the maid who had come to fetch him. When she stopped just outside the doorway, he hesitated for a moment, taking a deep breath before stepping over the threshold. Instantly, his aunts looked up from their tea, their eyes fixing upon him accusingly and making him tempted to take a step back, to turn his back on them and run to his room. Instead, he simply smiled and took another step forward, bowing to them respectfully.
"You wished to see me?" he asked, and Masako extended a hand to gesture to the chair across from them.
"Please, sit down, Ainosuke."
Obediently, he took a seat, watching as Hanako reached out to place something on the table between them. When he recognized the object, his fingers twitched, as if they were tempted to curl up into fists, before he forced them flat against his thighs.
"We found this in your room. Where did you get it?" Hanako asked as one of her perfectly manicured fingers tapped against the Super Sentai figurine. Ainosuke wanted to avert his eyes, but instead, he sat straighter in the chair, meeting his eldest aunt's eyes.
"Akira-kun gave it to me yesterday."
"As a gift?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because we're friends."
"What connections does his family have?"
Ainosuke hesitated, and she repeated the question more sharply.
"What connections does his family have?"
"None that I know of," Ainosuke admitted reluctantly, though he still enunciated clearly.
"Does this 'Akira-kun' demonstrate any particular talents or aptitude?"
"... no."
"Then, do you understand what you have done wrong?"
A muscle tensed in Ainosuke's jaw, and he ducked his head into a nod to hide it. Only after the moment had passed did he raise his head again, staring back at Hanako. "Yes."
"Explain."
"I should not have accepted a gift from Akira-kun. Fostering a relationship with someone who possesses little or no social connections and who does not possess exceptional merit or future potential would do nothing to elevate the Shindo name. It may also be possible that in the future, he might seek to use our friendship in order to take advantage of me in order to benefit himself. This could easily be done by invoking a debt of gratitude and become a vulnerability that might even harm the prestige of our family."
Except Akira wasn't that kind of person. Sure, he might not be "valuable" by the standards of their family, but he was a really good guy. He was popular among all of their classmates for his kindness and generosity: when he'd seen Ainosuke watching them, but unable to join in on their game, he'd given him one of his figurines without hesitation. Sure, it wasn't new, and even if it was, it would probably have been cheap, but his father and aunts would never have let him spend money on something so frivolous.
But they wouldn't understand, even if he tried to explain. So he didn't even try as Hanako continued her lecture.
"Very good. So what must you do to rectify this error?"
"Tomorrow, I will return this to Akira-kun with gratitude and then cut off all further contact," Ainosuke recited, and his aunt nodded decisively.
"Perfect answers. Which means that you should have been aware of how to conduct yourself properly, and yet you chose not to. Hold out your hands."
Very slowly, Ainosuke obeyed, turning his wrists so that his forearms were exposed as Hanako handed the wooden ruler to Kanako.
"You understand, Ainosuke, that we do not enjoy doing this, right?" Hanako asked as she leaned back on the couch, raising a cup of tea to her lips. "But your father has tasked us with raising you to become an outstanding young man, and that includes disciplining you when it is necessary. All that we do, we do it out of love."
And Ainosuke smiled at them, an open smile entirely devoid of guile.
"I am very sorry for my mistake; it won't happen again. Thank you very much for your guidance."
But even so, he couldn't help flinching as the ruler came whistling down.

Okay but for people who have never watched a Super Sentai show before, Zenkaiger was such a good starting point for me. It’s wacky and goofy but and is a monster of the week story which makes you understand it is very much for kids with it’s obvious merchandise in the show (the overtop guns and everything) but the show is also insanely well directed. Besides the impressive costume design that I am learning is one of the main points of these shows, the directing on scene is stellar with the cameras during action scenes zooming around yet I never get lost, and some shots are straight up beautiful that I can recall them now- a girl from the back as she stands on the steps in front of water and dumps all her belongings to repent, the swing scenes with Kaito and Zox paralleling Kaito and Stacey’s swing scene episodes later, the Stacey confusion and trauma blurring everything as he watches a fake version of a loved one try to kill him, it’s just INCREDIBLE. The writing also doesn’t miss, when you meet Stacey you instantly know and hope he’ll experience some form of a redemption arc, but watching his complex trauma and issues get developed and worsened throughout the series just continued to make me yell “We’re doing this? We’re really doing this?! I thought this was a kids’ show???” And the found family- I love how Kaito’s optimism does waver at times and he really needs his friends to help him get back up. Fitting the “kids show” style, he is overly optimistic and friendly, acting like a kid even though he’s twenty years old, but the other characters who are more “mature” or, you might think in the beginning “more fleshed out”, grow to understand and respect Kaito’s outlook, lie with Zox, who despite putting up a cool guy front still takes time to warn Kaito that he might want to think about things differently and worries about him.
TLDR: Please watch Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, it was my first Tokusatsu show ever and I am now hooked. Even if I rolled my eyes at Kudaitest every episode lol

Week of Toku Ladies Day Six: LOVERS
The city looked like the stuff of nightmares, like a scene out of a horror movie. Akumu Wald shot strange beams out of his hands, hitting innocent people and Kikainoids alike. Those who were hit immediately fell to the ground and fell asleep.
“What’s going on around here?”
“Everyone’s,” Juran tilted his head to the side, trying to make sense of the situation, “asleep?”
“Isn’t it wonderful, akumu? I put everyone to sleep and they experience horrific nightmares, akumu!”
“You!” Kaito pulled out his Geartlinger and his personal Zenkaiser Sentai Gear. “Let’s go, everyone!”
Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon all followed suit, pulling out their Geartlingers and personal Sentai Gears. The quintet slotted their Gears into their Geartlingers, cranked the handle, and pulled the trigger, triggering their transformations.
“Yon-Juu Go Bang!”
“Juu-Roku Bang!”
“Ni-Juu Go Bang!”
“Ni-Juu Kyu Bang!”
“San-Juu Bang!”
“Change Zenkai!”
In a matter of seconds, the quintet stood in front of Akumu Wald, ready for battle.
“Secret Power! Zenkaiser!”
“Dinosaur Power! Zenkai Juran!”
“Hundred-Beasts Power! Zenkai Gaon!”
“Magical Power! Zenkai Magine!”
“Rumbling Power! Zenkai Vroon!”
“The five warriors assembled, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger!”
“Full force, full-throttle!”
“Kudacks, akumu!”
The team launched themselves into battle against the Kudacks, mowing through the footsoldiers with practiced ease. In a fiery explosion, Akumu Wald was the only enemy left.
“It looks like I have no choice, akumu.”
Akumu Wald shot his beam out of his hands, aiming at the quintet. Juran, Gaon, and Vroon were able to maneuver out of the way, but the beam still headed for Kaito and Magine. Kaito pushed Magine out of the way as hard as he could and she landed with a squeak.
“Kaito, mu mu mu!”
“Kaito!”
“Kaito, get out of there!”
“Kaito!” Vroon’s voice shook with worry and fear.
Akumu Wald’s beam hit Kaito, causing him to fall to the ground, his transformation canceling.
“You!” Gaon growled.
Gaon and Juran ran at Akumu Wald, Gaon Claw and Juran Sword and Shield at the ready. Gaon raked his weapon across Akumu Wald’s chest, which only made him stumble back a few inches.
“Is that all you can do, akumu?”
Watching the situation, Juran knew they weren’t going to win as they were right now. There was only one solution. With Kaito out of commission for the time being, Juran was acting leader.
“Gaon, stop! We’re retreating for now. We need to regroup and come up with a plan.”
“But!” Gaon growled. “Kaito!”
“We’ll save him, but we need a plan,” Juran looked over at his surrogate niece. “Magine, we need a distraction.”
“Mu mu mu, Magine!” Magine waved her MagineStick and five pink cups appeared.
The cups spun around for a few moments, then prompted Akumu Wald to choose one. He picked an incorrect cup and was shocked for his troubles. He picked another cup and was shocked again. One by one, he chose the other three cups and received shocks after all three.
Back at Colorful, Kaito was resting in bed, though his rest was anything but peaceful. He was tossing and turning and a sheen of sweat formed on his forehead. Gaon sequestered himself behind Colorful’s counter, throwing himself into working on new recipes, Vroon immersed himself into a stack of books, and Juran tried to comfort a crying Magine.
“We need to form a plan to defeat Akumu Wald and save all of his victims. It’ll be just like when we defeated Koori Wald and Boxing Wald. In those situations, the ice and the boxing gloves disappeared, so if we can successfully defeat Akumu Wald, everyone trapped in their nightmares will wake up. We have to do this for Kaito.”
“Oji-san, I know, but I can’t watch Kaito suffer like this. He doesn’t deserve this. Akumu Wald was aiming for me. I should’ve been the one that was hit. He pushed me out of the way! I should be the one suffering right now!” Magine had tears in her eyes that were threatening to fall and her voice went up several octaves as she became more frantic.
“Magi-chan, stop! Stop now! Kaito pushed you out of the way because he didn’t want you to get hurt. He cares about you that much. Now, it’s up to us to save him.”
“Oji-san, I,” Magine hesitated with what she wanted to say next. She hadn’t fully come to terms with what she truly felt, believing that he didn’t feel the same way. “I don’t know if he feels the same way, but I really, really like him, Oji-san.”
“Then, let’s get back out there and stop Akumu Wald once and for all. Every minute we spend here feeling sorry for ourselves is another minute more victims appear. Just know I support you with whatever decision you make, but if he hurts you, friend or not, we’ll be having words.”
Magine gasped softly, then a resolved smile appeared on her lips. She stood up and wiped her eyes.
“Gaon, Vroon, let’s go. It’s time to take care of Akumu Wald once and for all and save all of the people suffering because of him.”
“Why do you get to give the orders?”
Magine glared at Gaon.
“So, you don’t care about everyone’s plight as they suffer from Akumu Wald’s nightmares? You don’t care about Kaito’s suffering?!”
“Of course I do! Don’t stand there and tell me I don’t care!”
“If we don’t stop Akumu Wald now, his victims will continue to suffer and we’re the only ones who can stop him! If you don’t want to follow us, fine. The three of us will defeat Akumu Wald and save Kaito and everyone else.”
“I joined Kaito because I wanted to fight for the sake of all of the people and animals suffering because of the Tojitendo. I’m not just going to stop now.”
“Good, so let’s go.”
“What’s up with you and Kaito?”
“Hey! I don’t think that’s any of your business!”
“Oji-san, stop!” She finished scolding Juran and stared at Gaon. “I don’t know. I care about him, but I don’t know if he feels the same.”
“Magi-chan, my grandson might be a reckless idiot, but if he risked his life to save yours, there’s no doubt he cares about you too. I don’t know how he truly feels about you, but I know he cherishes your friendship.” Yatsude told her, walking into the room.
“Thank you, Yatsude-san! We’re leaving now and we’ll return soon!” Magine bowed and ran toward the door, resolve in her eyes.
“I can hear it in her voice. That girl has a crush on my grandson and it’s eating her up inside that he’s suffering. I don’t think the Wald will know what hit him. Juran, Gaon, Vroon, please keep Magi-chan safe and don’t let her do anything rash.”
“Of course, Yatsude-san. Magi-chan is like my niece. I’ll protect her with my life.”
“You can always count on me, Yatsude-san.”
“Yes, of course, Yatsude-san!”
Juran, Gaon, and Vroon made their way toward the door and all smiled at Magine.
“Let’s go defeat Akumu Wald and wake everyone up!”
The group ran back into town and discovered Akumu Wald attacking more victims.
“Your reign of terror ends now, Akumu Wald!” Juran briefly glanced at Gaon, Magine, and Vroon, who each gave a short nod.
They pulled out their Geartlingers and personal Sentai Gears and transformed.
“Wake up all of those people you trapped in nightmares!”
“Never, akumu!”
Magine summoned her MagineStick and used her magic to trap Akumu Wald.
“Alright, time for the finisher! Let’s go!”
Juran, Gaon, Magine, and Vroon pulled the trigger on their Geartlingers and then cranked them, powering their shots up.
“Hero! Super Zenkai Time!”
“Dai Zenkai! Zenkai Juran!”
“Dai Zenkai! Zenkai Gaon!”
“Dai Zenkai! Zenkai Magine!”
“Dai Zenkai! Zenkai Vroon!”
They each pulled their triggers, firing four powerful shots at Akumu Wald. An energy version of the Zenkaiger team symbol crashed down on him and destroyed him. Magine jumped up and down in glee.
“Let’s check on everyone! They should’ve woken up by now.”
The people in town were all starting to wake up, blinking blearily and trying to figure out what had happened to them. The quartet ran over to assess all of the people and helped as many as they could to their feet. They told them to get to safety and waited for a Kudaitest to appear.
“Where’s the Kudaitest? Doesn’t it usually appear by now? Where’s Ijirude? Shouldn’t he be here, vroon?”
“Mou! Too many questions! Though, that is kind of strange. I would’ve expected the old tin can to have showed up by now with the Kudaitest. Maybe Akumutopia was freed and we don’t have to fight a giant monster?”
“I’m afraid that’s where you’re wrong, Zenkaigers. Curious, though, I see your little group is short one member.”
“I’m right here, Ijirude! Change Zenkai! Secret Power! Zenkaiser!”
“Kaito, you’re awake! Glad to have you back in action!”
“Kaito!”
“I’m happy you’re awake, Kaito, vroon!”
Magine was quiet. She’d almost lost her friend to a nightmare monster and she never wanted to face that again.
“Magine, are you alright?” Kaito sounded worried. He was worried.
Sniffle. Sniffle. Sniffle.
“Magine?”
“You idiot!” Sniffle, “Why did you do that?!” Sniffle. Sniffle.
“Why did I do what?”
“Why did you push me out of the way of Akumu Wald’s nightmare beam?!”
“That’s what you’re mad about?”
She glared at him through her visor.
“Of course that’s what I’m angry about, Kaito! I’m a Ranger too, or have you forgotten that? I can protect myself and I don’t need people shoving me out of the way to keep me safe!”
His anger was steadily rising too, though he was trying to remain somewhat calm.
“I know you’re a Ranger and I know you can protect yourself, Magine. I haven’t forgotten any of that. I pushed you out of the way because I didn’t want you to get hurt. I couldn’t take it if you had gotten hurt. You’re one of my closest friends and I don’t want to lose you.”
“I don’t want to lose you either, Kaito, so don’t do anything stupid like that again!”
He smiled, “I won’t. Now! Let’s prepare to fight the Dai Wald at full force, full throttle!”
“Yeah!”

Power Rangers Samurai Rewrite
Power Rangers is an amazing show with a rich history and a tapestry that is beyond anything we have ever known. However some of the seasons just sucked… but unlike series like Turbo and to a greater extent, Operation Overdrive where there were seasons on either side of them that made them tolerable and gave us something awesome to cleanse our viewing palate on we didn’t have that with Samurai and Megaforce with both seasons being awful for different reasons. Samurai was just bad due to it being a direct copy of the sentai story and Mega-Force was bad due to it’s laziness. So I have decided to take an idea of attempting to rewrite history and instead rewrite a season of Power Rangers.. specifically Samurai and Mega-Force with hopefully better story and character development.
I’m beginning with Samurai first. We open pretty much how the actual show started with kids kidnapped by moogers who then come face to face with the Red Samurai Ranger however Mentor Hajun Ji is back at the Shiba house and is sat with a com set on and is talking to the red ranger, he easily takes care of the moogers and the kid who survived watches him leave and mutters “Power Rangers”
The Red ranger returns to the Shiba house and demorphs. We meet Jayden who is a bit of an arrogant dick. Mentor Ji tells him that the moogers are becoming more aggressive and it may not be long before Nighlocks start coming through. Jayden isn’t worried, saying that he can take whatever comes through and that the threat will end with him but Ji disagrees saying that they need to find new rangers to bring about the next generation of Samurai rangers. Jayden doesn’t want to saying that there are no other new generations and that he is the last one (they share a look) and Ji then tells him to look out for those in the school he goes to who embody the traits of the Samurai and he will do the same elsewhere. While at the school, maintaining his cover Jayden sees Kevin who is regimented and has the disciplined and he also sees Mia who has patience even when she continually fails at cooking. He leaves them notes in their lockers. Ji is out at a park and he sees Emily sitting and talking with a young boy and some bullies come over to make fun of him and asking if he’s having a girl fight his battles for him, then Mike enters on his skateboard and he is older than the bullies as well as more athletic (think of the bullies as a mini Bulk and Skull) so the bullies run away. This immediately sets up the Emily and Mike relationship with Mike coming to Emily’s rescue and her defending the boy. Ji recognises the compassion in Emily and the boldness and tenacity in Mike so he gives them notes as well.
The others all show up at the Shiba house where Ji explains to them why they are there. Jayden scoffs over the choices of Mike and Emily and tests them both with a bamboo sword. He knocks Mike down multiple times but he gets up again every time with Emily being able to fend off his attacks and learning to keep the others safe as well as things around the Shiba house. Jayden is impressed and so hands them the Samuraisers and they go to fight an group of moogers. They morph for the first time in the Shiba house and leave as Rangers. A Nighlock emerges and fights the rangers and through them working as a team they destroy the Nighlock. Ji is concerned upon their return and wonders why the Nighlock didn’t grow with a shot showing the destroyed Nighlock pieces as it dissolves to the Netherworld where a ship floats on the Sanzu River and episode one ends.
Second episode introduces the villains. Octoroo is wandering up and down the ship and is very anxious. Dayu enters and they talk about how the Samurai rangers and now all back and just when having the one around was bad enough. However they are stopped by Xandred who doesn’t have a body yet. He is a part of the Sanzu river. He curses the previous Samurai Red Ranger for putting him in this state but knows the if the moogers and his Nighlock servants raise enough fear then the Sanzu river will flow into the human world and the Netherworld will merge with it causing Xandred to have enough power to restore himself to his corporeal form and take over. Xandred demands to know whats going to happen with the Nighlock that was destroyed. Octoroo says that he’s going to send a new Nighlock who can grow giant after being defeated and said he needed the previous Nighlock’s energy to use for Master Xandred’s use. Xandred is pleased by this but also wonders why Dayu is there as she wasn’t in his favour last he checked. Dayu responds by stating that Octoroo needs her and Xandred can’t stop that.
Back with the rangers they start to train with Jayden and learn about their zords with Ji telling them about how the Nighlocks normally growing to giant sized. We also see Mike notice the motorbike and asking about it with Ji saying it was his. The new Nighlock emerges with some Moogers and they go to fight. They fight and defeat it with this one going big and the folding zords are invoked with the armour mode in the zords like in the actual show still happening. They defeat the Nighlock and Octoroo is annoyed but vows that he will restore his master and they will take the human world.
Over the course of the first season we see episodes dedicated to the rangers themselves learning about them a bit more with ironic monsters of the week being involved. Mia would have a mind that is focussed on following the instructions when it comes to something like baking but it still doesn’t come out right and she gets frustrated and ends up bonding with Emily who helps her understand that a little love and caring doesn’t hurt. Kevin has his jealousy of Jayden moment where he talks about preferring himself as Red Ranger and they both have a “Oh I’m a bit of a dick” moment. Mike has an episode with him and Ji where it’s revealed that Ji was a lot like Mike, so alike in fact that he used to be the previous Green Samurai Ranger. Emily has her moment when the Nighlock uses horrible memories against Emily and it turns out that a Nighlock hurt her big sister who was usually the strong one but after she was attacked Emily had to step up and became the strong one. But as for who that Nighlock was, let’s leave that for now. Finally Jayden’s episode has Antonio, his old friend coming to town to stay. They reunite after having spent years apart and Antonio already knows about the Samurai Rangers so he becomes an IT assistant to Ji and they all get on with that concept; we also learn that Jayden misses being able to be normal sometimes.
Moving on from that we get introduced to Decker and Serrator. Serrator is a Nighlock general that once led a nighlock army. He comes in and takes control away from Octoroo as well as taking his place as Xandred’s whisperer. Decker emerges in the human world and fights against Moogers and a Nighlock instead of the rangers who watch with amazement as he calls the nighlock “scum” after he cuts it down. He also challenges Jayden who refuses and Decker says that eventually they will duel as he will be the only challenge Jayden will see is worth fighting. He can still switch between human and Nighlock but he fights the moogers as a human which makes the rangers hopeful then turns into his nighlock form when he faces the other Nighlock.
Moving on past it we learn about the Octazord and it’s inability to listen to anyone else. Ji eventually sees it talking to Antonio though he tries to keep it a secret til he can figure out why it’s talking to him instead of the other rangers and he didn’t think Ji would believe him if he said he wasn’t doing it on purpose. Ji instead attempts to help Antonio and they look at the Octazord together.
Moving on we end up with a Nighlock that can turn humans into Moogers but only until it’s destroyed unless the moogers go back to the netherworld then it’s permanent. It gets nearly all the rangers except for Kevin who runs back to the Shiba house with the other’s morphers who were all dropped when they were turned. Ji and Antonio talk about the Octazord who gives them a vision of a gold ranger that can help. They end up combining the octazord tech with Ji’s old samurai morpher into the gold ranger morpher which leads to Antonio becoming the gold ranger and a part of the team.
The end of the season comes in the form of a two parter where Octoroo finally sends out a massive army of moogers along with Serrator and Dayu into the world to end the rangers and prepare the world for Xandred’s return. Serrator leads the charge and fights the rangers, beating them so bad they demorph. However before Serrator can attack another figure steps in and morphs into a female version of the red ranger. She attacks Serrator who falls back and goes off to spread fear. This is still Lauren and she still left when their father died in order to learn how to destroy Xandred permanently. Jayden reveals how he used his father’s old morpher and she has the traditional one that he refused to use and that he wanted to be the red ranger but Lauren was older so that’s just the way it goes. Lauren is introduced to everyone and Jayden immediately sees Decker who challenges him. He leaves with Antonio to fight against Decker while the others follow Lauren after she gives a speech about them beating them back. They fight against the Moogers and Serrator. While Jayden fights against Decker, Antonio fights against Dayu and she reveals through their fight that she and Decker are connected and all she knows is that she must be with him when he falls. Antonio beats her and she flees with Jayden and Decker coming to a stalemate and Decker, apparently recognising his link with Dayu leaves too with Jayden and Antonio returning to the fight and they finish off the moogers while Lauren demolishes Serrator but before he dies he goes back ot the Netherworld.
However upon his return, Serrator is used by Octoroo who planned it so Serrator would be weak, apparently enough fear has been created that Xandred can leave the Sanzu river but as a spirit and he inhabit Serrator who dies as Xandred takes over. He laughs and says that Serrator’s body is only temporary until he has enough energy to bring himself back to his proper form.
We see Lauren reunite with Ji and she begins bonding with the rest of the team. Jayden admits he’s happy to be done being Red Ranger as she takes her rightful place as team leader but he’ll still be here to help in the fight and at least they have a spare red ranger now. We then see Decker stood outside the house and smiling to himself, thinking about what the future holds

By Your Side
Word count: 3,474
Pairing: Taishiro
Read below the cut or here on ao3.
Summary: “Taichi-san, you spent years telling me to believe in myself. Either you would beat a dead horse or I’d finally conquer my insecurities. Personally, I’m glad it was the latter.”
Five times Koushiro and Taichi were being good to each other from childhood to adulthood. Rated T for zombie gorillas and Taichi's foul mouth.
5&6
“Taichi, be careful!” his mom called out. But Taichi had already taken off toward the monkey bars, leaving a trail through the pebbles that separated the swings from the jungle gym. The jungle gym was attached to a large fort-style playground set that was often the backdrop for Taichi’s adventures — today, he needed to escape a rampage of zombie gorillas, and the only way was to make it through the forest Tarzan-style.
He wasn’t tall enough to reach the monkey bars on his own, but he had learned that the big dome on the opening of the slide was the perfect height. He stuck his shoe between the slide and plastic log fort, balancing on the large bolt that held the slide in place. Hoisting himself up and over the edge of the dome. The monkey bars were about two feet away to the right, and all he’d need to do was jump. He better get going, too, because the zombie gorillas were headed this way.
Taking one look behind him, Taichi stood, like a hero in his own movie, and prepared himself. He only had one chance to do this. If he didn’t make it, the zombies would eat his brain and spread the zombie virus to the human race. Taichi couldn’t let that happen. With one breath and a battle cry, Taichi lept from the top of the slide, arm fully extended out to grasp at the monkey bars. He was going to make it. He knew it. Almost there.
His fingertips brushed the underside of one bar, and he recognized his mistake. The zombies won.
Crashing to the ground snapped Taichi from his fantasy. He’d landed on his hands and knees, now bruised and scraped, and he could feel tears prickling at the corners of his eyes as he sat on his butt and assessed the damage.
“Are you okay?”
Taichi looked up into deep, dark eyes that were filled with concern and a tinge of something else.
“Y-yeah. I just —” Taichi said, turning his palms outward and gesturing to the little red-haired boy, who was kneeling beside him.
“That looks like it hurts,” the boy said, reaching out to hold Taichi’s left wrist, turning his hand this way and that. “But you looked so cool! Like Super Sentai!” The boy looked up at him, then, wide-eyed and a smile full of admiration.
“Oh!” he said, like he’d forgotten something. He looked back to Taichi’s palm and pressed a small kiss right in the center. “My okaa-san said it helps the healing.”
“Th-thanks,” Taichi said, feeling his face heat up.
“Koushiro! It’s time to go home!” a woman yelled somewhere off to the left of where the two boys sat.
“Ah, that’s my okaa-san!” the boy said, scrambling to his feet. He bowed, then smiled and with a wave said, “I have to go now! I hope you feel better soon!”
Taichi sat there, watching the boy’s back become smaller as he ran toward his mom.
“Taichi?” his own mother called.
He looked back over his right shoulder.
“Oh, Taichi! Are you okay? Are you hurt?” his mother asked.
Taichi shook his head, looking back at his hand. “No, mom, I’m okay. I’ll be better in no time.”
9&10
“Koushiro! Pass!” He heard someone yell, but he was too overwhelmed by the two bodies blocking him. Koushiro was running toward the soccer net as quickly as his little legs would carry him. The two children to his right and left stood a whole head taller than him. He could hardly see as it was; his hair was sticking flat to his forehead, sweat beading down in tiny rivers that pooled in his eyes.
“Pass it!”
He saw a mass of hair whirlwind behind the kid to his right, and Koushiro prayed it was his teammate. He quickly stepped to the left, pulled his right leg back, and kicked the ball. He made contact, he was sure, but his feet got tangled somewhere along the way and he planted face-first into the pitch.
“Go, go, go, go!”
Koushiro lifted himself up just in time to see Taichi straight-kick the ball right past the goalie and into the net. He looked like a pro, with the sunset as his backdrop. Koushiro would bet his life that Taichi would one day be the best soccer player in Japan — better than even Kamamoto Kunishige. With a little more than 30 seconds to go before half time, Koushiro got to his feet and started trekking back to the bench. His chin hurt, and he could use a towel and some water.
“Oi, Koushiro!” Taichi was jogging his way, dimples framing his warm smile. “Hey man, great pass!”
“Ah, n-no, it was all you,” Koushiro said, looking at the ground. Peeking up at his teammate, he added, “You were amazing out there, Taichi-san.”
“No way! We never would have scored had you not ran the ball down the pitch,” Taichi said, reaching a hand out to ruffle Koushiro’s hair. “Honestly, you were awesome!”
Koushiro looked down again, his face suddenly warm. “Th-thank you, Taichi-san. That makes me very happy.”
Taichi slung an arm over Koushiro’s shoulders, pulling him into Taichi’s side. “C’mon, let’s get a bandaid for your chin. You’re going to look so cool. Coach said girls like battle scars.”
Koushiro heard what Taichi said, but his brain stopped working sometime around the word cool. Taichi thought he would look cool. And suddenly, Koushiro wanted nothing more.
11&12
It had been one year exactly since their adventure to the digital world, and Taichi was feeling a little nostalgic. School had been well enough, and Taichi kept himself busy with soccer and video games for most of the summer. Had it been a Saturday, Taichi wouldn’t have felt bad about spending the morning in bed. But it wasn’t Saturday, it was Tuesday, and his mom was expecting him to be alive by the time she got home.
Taichi rolled himself toward the edge of his bed, slowly extending a leg and an arm so he could lower himself to the floor. He lay like that for a while. He’s not really sure how long, but he heard footsteps in the hall and gentle knocking on the door — he must have dozed off again. At least he was out of bed.
“Onii-chan? I’m heading out now.” A pause, then, “Onii-chan?”
“Have fun,” Taichi called out to his sister. Hikari had adjusted to life without their digimon much better than he had, and he didn’t want to bring her mood down like that.
“Okay. Why don’t you invite someone over? Have some fun yourself!” Hikari was trying to encourage him, and honestly, Taichi doesn’t think it’s a bad idea.
“Yeah, maybe.”
“I’ll see you later, okay?” He can hear her footsteps retreating. Shortly after, he hears the door open and close. Taichi is officially alone.
Taichi stared at the ceiling, tracing patterns in the popcorn texture and thinking about the first time he met Koromon. The first time he evolved. The first time he understood the power of his courage. “Hey, that kind of looks like Ikakumon,” Taichi chuckles to himself. He’s probably imagining it. He could almost hear Koushiro telling him about how our brains are formidable and capable of filling in the gaps and playing tricks on us. He smiled and rolled onto his stomach, let out a groan, and picked himself off the ground.
***
Koushiro answered the phone after three rings. Taichi wasn’t sure why he suddenly felt nervous, like he was troubling the other boy or something. It was Koushiro. Koushiro, who showed up randomly at Taichi’s home just a couple months ago and helped his mom bake a cake. This is fine.
“Uh, Taichi-san?”
“Come over.” Taichi said, mentally smacking himself for being so blunt. “Please?” He adds before Koushiro can respond.
“Okay, Taichi-san. I’ll be there shortly.” And it sounded like Koushiro was smiling.
When he said shortly, he wasn’t kidding. It was maybe 25 minutes later when Taichi heard knocking at the door. They’d spent the last hour eating snacks and playing Mortal Kombat, and Taichi was becoming increasingly more irritated for the following two reasons: 1) Koushiro had gone through six glasses of Oolong tea and had already taken two bathroom breaks and 2) despite this, Koushiro was still kicking his ass. They were 12-3 with Koushiro in the lead, and Taichi had already decided that Koushiro was clearly cheating. To prove his point, Taichi had the boy pinned to the floor in a bout of tickle tortue.
“I’m not cheating, Taichi-san!” Koushiro said through giggles, accidentally kneeing Taichi in the stomach.
“Well, if you’re not a cheater, then you’re a magician, and that’s still cheating!” Taichi replied, poking his fingers into Koushiro’s sides.
“Me cheating is about as possible as Agumon being a real dinosaur!” Koushiro laughed. And suddenly, he wasn’t laughing.
“Taichi-san?”
Taichi’s face felt hot and wet, but he doesn’t remember how it got that way. Koushiro was looking up at him, concerned and a little scared. He didn’t want to look weak in front of his friend. He felt so weak.
“Taichi-san,” Koushiro said, softer, and Taichi lowered his head to rest on the boy’s shoulder, hiding his hurt in this pocket of trust. He felt a hand on his back as a sob wracked up his spine and out his throat. “It’s okay, Taichi-san. I miss them, too.”
17&18
“Who does Yamato think he is? Saying that kind of thing all cool and nonchalant. He should have known that Sora wouldn’t take it well. Oi, Koushiro, are you listening to me?”
He wasn’t. His heart was in his ears as he stared at his phone.
“Yo.”
He’d never felt so many emotions at once. But this really shouldn’t have surprised him.
“Koushiro. What’s so damn interesting that you can’t put your phone down?”
His phone was pulled right from his hands, and he did nothing to stop it.
“Oh.”
He’d laugh, but he wasn’t sure it would sound much like a laugh at all.
“Oh, Koushiro. Hey, man. That —”
“N-no, it’s fine,” Koushiro mumbles out. His voice is low, breathy, almost inaudible, and it sounds foreign to his own ears.
“No, it’s not. Dude, like, she could have at least said something.”
Except, she didn’t need to. Mimi returned to America shortly after Christmas, following their final battle with Ordinemon. Koushiro had never worked up the courage to properly confess his feelings, and Mimi didn’t owe him any kind of explanation for the photo she uploaded to her social media, captioned “So thankful to be in love with this guy.” She was kissing him on the cheek. They looked happy.
“She looks happy. I’m happy for her.”
And he was. Truly.
“That doesn’t mean your feelings don’t matter!”
“Taichi-san, really. It’s fine.”
“Clearly it isn’t.”
A hand cupped his cheek, thumb swiping just under his eye. Taichi is looking at him like he’s proving a point.
“We wouldn’t have worked out anyway.”
“Why not?”
He could hear tints of frustration in Taichi’s voice. He flinched a little at the words; that tone was usually reserved for Yamato. Koushiro decided to choose his words carefully. The last thing he wanted was to lose Mimi and Taichi in one sitting.
“Ah, I, um — I don’t think I’m bold enough to stand at Mimi-san’s side.”
“That’s bullshit.”
He flinched again.
“Do you ever say nice things about yourself? Don’t you see how amazing you already are?”
Koushiro looked up, meeting Taichi’s eyes for the first time since he’d unlocked his phone.
“Amazing?”
“Duh. Koushiro, you’re like the most incredible person I know.”
But Koushiro didn’t really believe him. Taichi was being nice because Taichi was a good person. Taichi was a good friend. Taichi was the amazing one. Tall and strong. Fearless. A natural leader — our leader.
“Don’t look at me like that. Like you think I’m being ‘illogical.’ I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. You’re amazing. You are literally the reason we weren’t all killed in the digital world. You have your own office. You were the one who figured out that Meicoomon had backups of our digimon’s memories. You’re creating portals for us to travel between worlds. Portals, Kou. You’re so fucking smart, I don’t even know where you come up with all your ideas. And you turn every idea into a reality. You might think that isn’t significant, but I do. Mimi is missing out. Everyone is missing out on—”
Kou. Koushiro has never been particularly spontaneous. He was usually calculated and found reasons to justify his actions. I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. Taichi and his kind words had pushed Koushiro to some kind of breaking point. The trust. The safety. The idea that someone thought so highly of him and this sudden need to protect it all. You’re amazing. He had subconsciously leaned forward toward his friend, as if their physical proximity could solidify this moment, like maybe Koushiro could really become one with all the lovely things Taichi was saying. He felt drunk on his heartbreak and sudden excitement. So fucking smart. Taichi’s words itched their way under his nails and made his fingers twitch. His blood was made of fire, his heart a bass drum, his brain alphabet soup — the letters spelling out ‘significant.’ This whole situation was illogical. Maybe Koushiro, too, was illogical.
Taichi didn’t move, didn’t push him away. Five seconds, their meeting lasted. Koushiro pulled away, the world crashing down on him as he realized what he’d done. He braved a peek at Taichi’s face — he looked different. Eyes glazed, looking past Koushiro. Mouth slightly open, jaw slacked. Koushiro took this moment to panic.
“T- ah, Taichi-san?”
“Huh?”
“Um.”
“Oh. Hey. I’m hungry. Want to grab a bite?”
“Uh?”
“I’ll treat today, so don’t worry.”
Taichi stood, grabbing his duffle bag and his wallet, looking back toward Koushiro, past him, again. His face said I need to get out of this room. Koushiro stood slowly, not making eye contact. He packed his laptop in his bag and decidedly ignored his phone, still unlocked and glowing with Mimi and her new boyfriend.
“I know I said I’ll treat, but I don’t have a lot of money. Are burgers okay?”
“Yes, that’s okay.”
“Cool.”
23&24
Taichi let out a yawn and scratched the back of head. He was thankful for this Friday evening, much welcomed after the long week. Taichi had been meeting regularly with Koushiro and his team to finalize their presentation on the digital world. They were finally making headway with the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly to get safety regulations passed to ensure secure travel to and from the digital world, which meant a foot in the door to (hopefully) his future boss and a potential research grant for Koushiro’s team.
Koushiro had texted him earlier in the day, suggesting dinner to celebrate their hard work. Taichi suggested pizza, Koushiro suggested Odaiba beach. Taichi was a bit surprised — it would be about an hour to get there from the city — but Odaiba did hold nearly all of their memories.
He smelled him before he saw him. Well, he smelled the pizza. Taichi turned to find Koushiro approaching his makeshift picnic space in the sand.
“Taichi-san!” Koushiro said, picking up speed.
“Hey,” Taichi responded smoothly. “You seem awfully excited. You didn’t miss me, did you?”
Koushiro let out a huff, but smiled anyway. “We worked hard this week! I added some finishing touches this afternoon and sent it to Nishi-san for proofreading. It should be ready to go early next week!”
Taichi wanted to say how appreciative he was, but his stomach rudely interrupted. Koushiro let out a laugh and handed over the pizza box.
They sat in silence for a while, making their way through their food and enjoying the breeze coming off the ocean. At some point, Koushiro had removed his socks and shoes and buried his feet in the sand. It had been a long time since either of them had been to the beach.
“You know, I thought about bringing Tentomon here to say goodbye.”
“Really?”
“Mhm. I was trying to think of something special to do. But I was too busy with work to get down here in time.”
“I took Agumon to watch the ocean. What did you end up doing?”
“I locked my office door and hugged him as tightly as I could.”
“How did he take it?”
“He knew what was happening. It didn’t matter where we were as long as we could properly say goodbye. I think he was happy with that.”
“Do you think we could ever, you know, regain our bonds?”
“I’m not sure. But I hope that, if we obtain this grant, we can proceed to research the digital world for traces of their data. If I’m being honest, I’m not convinced that our digimon are gone.”
“Hearing that from you gives me a lot of hope.”
Koushiro doesn’t respond. Taichi looks at him then, and he looks serene. Relaxed. Hopeful. It’s rare for Koushiro to display his quiet confidence. But if anyone can figure it out, Taichi trusts that his friend will.
“Taichi-san?”
“Hm?”
“You’re staring.”
“Ah, sorry! It’s just. You look confident.”
“Oh,” Koushiro said, high-pitched in surprise. “Hm. I suppose I can thank you for that.”
“What do you mean?”
“Taichi-san, you spent years telling me to believe in myself. Either you would beat a dead horse or I’d finally conquer my insecurities. Personally, I’m glad it was the latter.”
Koushiro looked back to the water, the air between them filled with something strange and familiar.
“Hey, Kou?”
“Hm?”
“Remember that time in high school when you kissed me?”
Koushiro sputters, face reddened like a radish bathed in sunset. “Why on Earth—”
“Why did you do it?”
“Um,” Koushiro drawls like he’s not sure how to answer. “Well.”
Taichi waits patiently, but he’s never been a particularly patient person.
“I don’t quite know, if I’m honest. I didn’t realize it was happening until it happened.”
“Hm.”
“Uhh. I remember being upset. And you made me feel better. My thoughts were blurry at that time. Ehh. I, um. I think I, maybe, I wanted to be the words you were saying?”
“What do you mean?”
“Mmm. You said I should see myself through your eyes. You ambushed me with compliment after compliment. And it took me by surprise because you were always someone I admired. I wanted to believe I was all the words you used to describe me. I wanted to believe I was worthy.”
“You are, though. I hope you believe that now.”
Koushiro isn’t looking at him, and Taichi doesn’t think he’s going to say anything else, so he continues.
“It’s the same, you know. For me.”
This caught the other boy’s attention, but Taichi cut off whatever Koushiro was going to say.
“I wanted to believe I was as cool as you thought I was,” Taichi said, huffing out a chuckle. “I wanted to stand by your side and be someone you could count on. I also wanted to believe I was worthy.”
“Do you? Believe, I mean.”
“Yeah, I do.”
Silence lies between them, but it’s no longer heavy. Koushiro’s twitching slightly, gazing out toward the water, but Taichi can tell his mind is somewhere distant. He hopes Koushiro is thinking the same thing.
“Hey, Kou?”
“Yeah?” Koushiro breathes back at him.
“Can I kiss you?”
***************************************************
A/N
And that’s it. That’s the end.
This was a wild ride that all started with the concept of kisses to fix booboos — a trope I need.
Some minor notes:
-This is loosely based around Adventure, 02 and tri., but I chose to ignore the movies (ie: Children’s War Game).
-Super Sentai is what the US’ “Power Rangers” is based on.
-Kamamoto Kunishige is one of the most prolific soccer players from Japan and is the all-time goal scorer in his country. He played for Japan’s national team throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s, and it’s my headcanon that Koushiro only knows his name because Taichi doesn’t shut up about him.
-I know Taichi works with the UN in the epilogue, but I wanted him to be just a couple years out of college here, so I filled in the gaps. Because Koushiro has already made a name for himself in the tech world (and with the knowledge that his work involves researching the digital world later), I thought it would be interesting for them to work together with common goals. That said, I have no idea what Taichi’s career path would look like, so bear with me.

Waldain Watches Kamen Rider Build
By waldangerous
All three of my friends who enjoy tokusatsu have recommended this show to me, as I had stopped watching all toku. I used to watch Kamen Rider every year until 2014, and even sooner for Super Sentai. Not that it had gotten bad, just that the adult enjoyment was diminishing. Shoutouts to the Japanese housewife demographic for all of their complaints and concerns about what their children were watching. Oddly enough, this show seems to have ignored those usual concerns as I looked up the wiki for this show and there was an advisory warning for blood, graphic violence, gun violence and murder. Those things in my kids’ show? Sign me up please!
Kamen Rider Build premiered in 2017 and follows an amnesiac physicist Sento Kiryu uncovering the mystery of a catastrophic event a decade ago that literally split Japan into three, leading to the birth of three nations. His findings lead him down a path that crosses with Ryuga Banjo, a man falsely incarcerated for murder. However, their paths have more to do with each other than they originally realize!
One thing I loved about this show was how once it picked up, the end of each episode legitimately kept me interested in what happens in the next one, which was a great feeling because I watched an episode a day to avoid the usual burnout from “marathonning”. The desire to always want the next one was due in part to Build not being held back by the 2-Part Plague. This was one of my least favorite things about Kamen Rider shows like OOO, Den-O, W and Kiva. It’s essentially when the series progresses in two-episode increments: the first episode presents a problem and it won’t be resolved until the following episode. Without this format, the show was able to go wherever it wanted or needed to to keep the story intriguing. Your time doesn’t feel wasted! Events feel significant!
Another plus for this show for me is how it attempts to still appeal to kids despite it’s more adult tone. From the middle of the show on, however, it does feel weird considering how dark it gets, but I understand that there was a story they wanted to tell and they didn’t want little Taro watching at home to get too freaked out by the massive government conspiracy and war. So they add a little bit of Ryuga being an idiot and Misora being a cute eGirl to balance it out.
This attempt at balance isn’t just for the plot content, but also for the actions scenes. I passed on watching Kamen Rider Wizard because of how much CGI it had. I acknowledge that a lot of CGI makes sense for the theme of the show, but it was still a turnoff for me personally as someone who originally watched Kamen Rider for karate bugmen superkicking aliens and robots on a weekly basis. My entry point into the world of Riders was Kamen Rider Kabuto, which was big on hand to hand fight scenes. It felt more real than huge super moves being added in post. Build, however, does both. The “wire fu” was obvious, but done in clever and interesting ways that add to the action and the CGI additions make sense where they are. Just as a physicist like Sento has to figure out how matter in this world exists in balance, the writers of this show did the same (that was a bigger stretch than downward dog, I’m sorry).
After finishing the show, I could definitely see why my friends recommended it. Especially in a time like now with the climate of world politics, this sort of thing was a nice piece of fiction to get me through the days. Highly recommended for fans of toku, and for non-fans of toku? What are you waiting for? If you’re reading this, I bet you like anime, right? Perfect, just hop on right over to tokusatsu. It’s pretty much live action anime anyway! We’d love to have you.

Reviewing Dramas I Have Watched Part 8
Again, here is my rating system:  1- Did not like, 2- Enjoyed but probably wouldn’t watch again, 3- Enjoyed and would watch some episodes again/may watch again, 4- Enjoyed and would watch again, 5- Loved
Korean Drama
My Strange Hero: 4
Trigger Warning: Suicide, Bullying, Verbal and Emotional Abuse
My Strange Hero is about a man named Bok-su (which stands for revenge), who was falsely accused by his friend and girl friend of shoving his friend off the school roof and expelled from high school. Now nine years later, he gets the opportunity to return to school but he isn’t just going to go back nicely, seeing the seemingly cozy lives those who betrayed him are living he decides to enact his revenge by proving how corrupt the high school and the people working in it are. However, his plans for revenge get more difficult to achieve when he begins to fall for his ex-girlfriend once again.
This show was cute and interesting, it made me mad and lot and Yoo Seung-ho never disappoints. I ended up watching it in less than a week with studying and all so it draws you in really fast. I absolutely loved the realistic factor of not having to forgive everyone for a good ending and to move on. Many shows, kdrama or otherwise, make characters forgive even those who did horrible things to them just for a good ending, and it’s not always that simple nor do you owe those who did horrible things to you an apology to be a good person and move on looking at you Missing Nine. However my main complaint with it is that the ending isn’t as impactful or satisfying as the ending three episodes previous. I’m glad they had the three ending episodes because the other characters got more closure, I just wish they would have made it as impactful as the ending of episode 29. It is about thirty minutes an episode so it’s a really fun and interesting watch if you need something on the shorter side. I highly recommend!

Love Alarm (Season 1): 3
Trigger Warning: Bullying, Suicide, PTSD, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Abuse
Love Alarm deals with the concept of having an app that can read your emotions and alerts your phone when you are in 10 meters of someone who loves you or alerts your crushes phone if they are within the 10 meters. It follows Jojo, a girl with a mysterious and sad past, who can’t download Love Alarm because of her phone. She is in an unhappy relationship and begins to have feelings for the new student. After being kind to a student, he gives her the phone and she can finally download it only to find that love is a lot more complicated than she originally expected.
Okay, I started this show because the new season was coming out and everyone was freaking out about it. I had been avoiding it all this time because I love Song Kang and have been following his work since his smaller roles, hoping he would get bigger roles. I was so excited when I first heard he would be the main here but couldn’t ever bring myself to watch it cause I don’t like romance love triangles and already knew he was playing the webtoon second lead which made it worse. Plus I have a trauma with anything that has Kim So-Hyun in it. I adore her acting, she is so good, too good. She just always plays in really sad, dark Kdramas and I always like the second leads in her shows so I just get sad and angry when I watch her shows. I at the time just didn’t feel like dealing with being annoyed and finally got in the mood to watch a cheesy love triangle romance. *spoiler alert* I can confidentially say that while no character and no ship is necessarily healthy, I do prefer Sun-ho to Hye-yeong. No, not because he is played by Song Kang, in the first few episodes I hated his character. I wanted to punch him so badly, but with all his immature flaws he did do some mature things. He told Hye-yeong to not fight over Jojo and to let her pick which I loved because, shows like to have the two people fight amongst themselves who gets the crush and that’s so stupid to me, Jojo is a person with feelings too and she might not like either so I loved that he said that. I also loved that instead of telling Hye-yeong not to pursue Jojo because he still loved her, he told Jojo to stay away from Hye-yeong so that he wouldn’t be hurt by her like Sun-ho was. He still loved her but his friend came first, and I felt horrible when he lost almost everyone who genuinely loved him. Hye-yeong is okay, but he isn’t even a healthier option, he literally stalks her all the time without her even knowing about it, he memorized her daily routine, where he’s going to college so he could move there to be around her, it’s just too creepy to me. Yes, Sun-oh stalked her too and that is not okay at all, but he made his presence known so that she can voice if she was uncomfortable or knew to call someone if she felt threatened, Hye-yeong sneaks around and doesn’t even talk to her and that’s super creepy to me. I just think they are both immature and personally with some growth I think Sun-oh is more fitting than Hye-yeong cause the two really do seem like they are in love with each other while Jojo and Hye-yeong seem like a crush that will turn out to be more platonic. I know it’s wishful thinking but that’s just my hopes. *spoiler over* I did really love this show actually, sometimes you just need a trashy dramatic romance. Yes, it had toxic behaviors but I still liked it, it felt like a realistic teenage couple in high school (minus Mr. Stalkery Stalks.) I think that not everything has to be analyzed, I enjoyed the cute romantic scenes at face value, even though I knew they weren’t healthy. If it happened to me in real life, I would have punched a bitch but it’s fun to watch on a screen.
Tumblr media
Blood: 2
Trigger Warnings: Blood, Suicide, Terminal illness, Murder, Abuse.
Blood is about a surgeon who is also a vampire. He tries to control his vampire self and help humans while working on a way to make himself human. When he transfers to a new hospital things take a turn for the weird as the patients of the new ward start exhibiting symptoms he is all too familiar with.
Blood was really good for the first two thirds of the series. I watched it before I found out about the main couples real life situation but continued to enjoy it because it’s none of my business what they do in their personal lives (so please don’t message or leave comments about that situation or your opinions on it.) Both couples were super cute and there were some plot twists that admittedly got me. I liked the story line and the idea that vampires were viruses that doctors were researching in secret. I really got hooked for most of the story; however, the last few episodes felt almost like they switched writers and the new writer had never watched the previous episodes. Comments were made that never were brought up again, like the thirty minutes of vaguely discussing his parents and who he was as an infectee that was never even slightly brushed upon for the rest of the episodes let alone resolved. Not to mention that last episode was a total mess and the ending sucked. The last two episodes are not canon in my mind that’s how weirdly out of place for the show they felt, it was like a 180. The ending was so confusing and I just really hated how it all played out. Because of this, I give the show a 2 cause I did enjoy it a lot but I won’t watch it again. Once of that was enough.
Tumblr media
Legend Hero: 4
Legend Hero, also known as Legend Hero Samgugjeon or Legends Heroes the Three Kingdoms, is about people who compete in a dream battle to acquire their ultimate dream. The main character acquired three spirit helpers which help him in combat by transforming him into an armored knight with special power, and later befriends angels who help him in the battles by boosting this power. He has to fight friend and foe alike to achieve his ultimate dream but that begs the question, is a dream really worth it?
I really enjoyed this show, it was admittedly difficult to get into at first but once I did, I was hooked. The characters were so cute and endearing, the plot had humor, angst, and fluff alike. The acting was a little silly at points but it was made for kids so it’s a little overdramatic. It was all around a very entertaining watch, I watched the whole series while on vacation during the resting hours when my family and I were lazing around the hotel and it was such a refreshing, happy, lazy watch. I highly recommend for those who enjoy a happy watch when they just wish to relax.
Tumblr media
Web-Drama/Mini-Series
Power Rangers Dino Force Brave: 4
Power Rangers Dino Force Brave, while technically a sequel to the super sentai series, is a original stand alone production and sSouth Korean take on the power rangers series. While the power rangers finally enjoy the peace that had come to the earth, a new threat is brewing. The Neo-Deboth Army has arrived looking for the power of the dinosaur king, the power ranger once more have to come together to defeat this threat.
This show was super interesting and cute. I have never seen any of the power ranger series so I am entirely inexperienced when it comes to their world. However, I can confidentially say this is a good stand alone as I was not confused while watching it. The first episode got recommended to me on youtube and since I was bored and unsure of what to do, I decided to watch it. I believe I finished the whole series in only a few days. It was super cute and I liked how ironic and silly the ending was with all the characters, including the evil ones dancing together. I’m sure die hard power rangers fans hated that but as someone who knows nothing about the series, I found it quite hilarious. The plot itself was entertaining and cool, it had some angst moments and some cute moments. I loved the ending, but that’s all I will say about that.
Tumblr media
Founder of Diabolism Q: 3
Founder of Diabolism Q is simply snippets of cute or funny scenes from the book that didn’t make it into the series or at least not in as much detail. It follows many characters in small, five minute long episodes and the shenanigans they get in to.
Founder of Diabolism Q was super cute! I have watched The Untamed and read some of the book but haven’t watch the actual anime yet. Still, I decided to watch this short series. I watched each episode as it came out and loved every one. There isn’t much to say on it though, other than it was super cute and if you love The Untamed or its adaptions, I highly recommend. Just make sure you watch or read one of the full adaptions first otherwise you will be very confused.
Tumblr media
Imaginary Cat: 4
Trigger Warning: Depression, Suicide, Vomit, Illness, Death
Imaginary Cat is about an aspiring webtoon artist who, after loosing his crush and falling into a depression, finds a cat in an alley and takes her in. He is able to recover from the loss and get back into writing when he meets a girl who is obsessed with cats especially after she lost her kitten as a child. He is just trying to get his webtoon accepted and she just wants to get close to him and his cat.
This was such a cute little easy watch, but was really sad at some points throughout the series. I teared up through some scenes and laughed so hard through others. I also related a lot to how the main plays with his cat, especially when said cat wants none of it. It was a really nice mini-drama to watch in the very little time I had between studying and moving house. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend to those who want a easy watch that’s a little sad and very cute.
Tumblr media
Korean Movies
The Magician: 4
Trigger Warning: Blood, Abuse, Drugs, Suicide Attempt, Murder, Death
The Magician is set in the Joseon Era and follows the famous magician, Hwan-hee. He along with his blind friend Bo-eum ran away from their abusive caretaker as children and are still worrying about being found by him even to this day as they perform to keep their livelihoods. Meanwhile a noble lady who was sold to the Qing dynasty comes to town. The two end up running into each other and quickly fall in love, however they both have to overcome the obstacles in their way in order to be together.
I loved this movie, I had to pause a few times just to process how much I personally enjoyed it. I wish I was able to watch it in a better quality because I never once saw how his one eye was blue, I just took their word and the movie poster for it. Unfortunately, it was the only place I could find to watch so I took what I could. The only reason I am giving it a four instead of a five is the ending sucked. I hated the ending. It just felt unnecessary and honestly really pissed me off. I don’t always need a happy ending but I also didn’t need that kind of ending either. I would still recommend it to those who like angst with some romance and a open-ish ending.
Tumblr media
Seondal The Man Who Sells the River: 5
Trigger Warnings: Blood, Death, Vomit, Gore
Seondal is supposedly a comedy about a group of swindlers who become fast family after escaping from a war they were drafted in. They work together to swindle their way into riches and out of dangerous situations. They gained a huge name in the Joseon dynasty for even swindling the king. However, after tragedy strikes, they decide to do their greatest job yet, sell a river of fake gold.
The movie was really good, both funny and heartbreaking. My friend and I watched it together thinking it would be a nice comedy after we watched some sad kdrama earlier that week however, it was most certainly not. We both ended up crying and raging. So just be warned it claims to be a comedy and it is hilarious for the first half of the movie, however it quickly turns dark so fast you are just sitting their in shock wondering what happened. I thought Xiumin’s acting was great and his character was adorable. I had not seen his acting before and he easily became a favorite. The movie’s plot and writing kept you engaged and entertained throughout and the ending was great in my opinion. Overall it was a really good watch, I have seen it twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend to those who enjoy both comedy and angst.

A3! Event: Blooming Squadron Mankai Rangers Epilogue “Newborn! Mankai Rangers!” Translation
Citron proposes the idea that they add members of Mankai Rangers and hold a show.
Tumblr media
TV: "Together, we are Blooming Squadron Mankai Ranger!"
Citron: Oh! You all are so cool!
Yuki: Heh… This is my first time seeing the video, but y'all sure look like heroes, huh.
Tsuzuru: Hyuga-san's actions are amazing!
Kumon: I really love it!
Citron: Super hentai is wonderful!
Tsuzuru: It's sentai, not hentai.
Azami: No one would guess an incident actually happened during the show.
Izumi: Because this was taken during the first session. The audience was really lively at the time.
Tsuzuru: The cloaks were impressive too. They fluttered everytime the actors moved.
Yuki: I created the cloaks while making sure that the cloaks would look beautiful whenever the actors moved. It was really fun making them, since I've never made a sentai costume before.
But still, I didn't think you'd go with such an unusual color schemes.
I've already thought about making blue and green ones when I heard we were gonna perform a super sentai show.
Izumi: Is that so?
Citron: In that case, Tsuzuru is, without a doubt, the Green!
Tsuzuru: You're bringing that up again?
Kumon: I think Blue will suit Azami!
Citron: I'll also be Blue!
Tsuzuru: Why do we need two people playing Blue?
Yuki: If we have to choose, I think Azami will suit Blue better.
Citron: Oh… It can't be helped, then. I'll make do with Rainbow.
Yuki: Rainbow? What are you saying?
Izumi: If we have the chance to do it again, I'd like to increase the cast members.
Citron: Fufufu… Leave that matter to me, then!
Izumi: ?
Tumblr media
Izumi: (The preparation is all done, and I'm glad there's a lot of people gathering in front of the stage.)
Syu: ...Hey, Little Miss.
Izumi: Syu-san!? You surprised me right there… Why are you...?
Syu: I just happened to pass by.
I was wonderin' why there's such a crowd here when I saw that you're gonna hold a show.
Before I knew it, I stopped walkin'.
Izumi: I see… so that's why you're here.
Syu: A hero show, huh… I guess this is what Hiro talked about before.
And to think that you'd be his co-stars…
Izumi: This time we'll simply be holding a show in the neighborhood, but we also delivered one at an official event.
It was well-received by the public so Citron-kun brought it up to the people in the neighborhood association…and that's how we were slated to perform here.
Syu: I see.
It's such a shame that I have a rehearsal after this, so I can't stay to watch y'all… But do your best.
Give my regards to those guys as well.
Izumi: Sure! Please come visit us in the theater or dorm again.
Syu: Yeah. Bye then.
Izumi: …
Citron: Director!
Yuki: So you're here.
Tsumugi: Thank goodness we found you.
Izumi: Guys, so you're here too.
Citron: Naturally! I've gotta give my thanks to all the people around after this.
Yuki: I want to see how the costumes move live.
Tsumugi: Since I was the one who recommended Tasuku before, I'm also curious to see his performance…
Citron: I've actually wanted to perform as Rainbow Ranger too.
Izumi: Ahaha… it's such a shame but we can't do anything about it since making the costume will be really costly.
Tumblr media
Fly: "We've come back… You all are no match for our reborn Lord Bear."
Chiharu: "Wha…"
Fly: "Attack them!"
Citron: I see! So Masumi is the villain!
Black: "Ha! Take this!"
White: "Ha!"
Yuki: Heh… They sure did their best.
Tsumugi: Both Tasuku's performance and action are lively…
Red: "Urghh!"
Silver: "Pants… pants…"
Gold: "Damn…!"
Red: "Bear will win at this rate…"
"I'm begging you, guys! Please cheer for us!"
Child A: Good luck!!
Child B: Good luck! Ranger!
???: "Looks like you're in a pinch, huh."
???: "...Is it finally our turn?"
White: "Those guys are…"
Blue: "The Clear Blue Water, Mankai Blue!"
Green: "The Healing Nature, Mankai Green!"
Blue: "Hey, you all are miserable. But..."
Green: "Our apologies for being late. We're here to help."
Yuki: Oh, here they come.
Tsumugi: Both of them look good.
Izumi: (While Azami-kun is Blue, Tsuzuru-kun is taking the Green role. In the end, we've brought our chat at that time to realization.)
Child A: Amazing! New friends~!
Child B: Blue~! Green~! Please help out Red and friends!
Bear: "It doesn't matter how many of you are coming at me. I'm gonna beat you all!"
Underlings: "Hi! Hi!"
Blue: "Haa!"
Green: "Take this!"
*attacks*
Fry: "Ugh…!"
Bear: "H-How come…!"
Red: "Let's join forces, guys!"
Rangers: "Yes!"
"Mankai Flower Fling Miracle Helard!!"
*attacks*
Children: They did it!!
Yuki: Both Tsuzuru and Azami are in high spirits.
Citron: The special move is so exciting!
